The Guild does an abysmal job of representing the student body — unless you are a minority group. But they will bend over backwards for you if you are disabled, LGBTQI+, from an under-privileged background or an ethnic minority.
I did my undergrad here. And am currently doing my Master's degree here too — although I'm considering transferring to a different uni since Curtin has introduced a new policy of medical discrimination and segregation based on vaccine status. I've contacted all Guild reps requesting a copy of evidence and risk assessments considered at the meetings relating to vaccine mandates. They are supposed to represent ALL students, but have betrayed them by endorsing the implementation of a Segregation Policy introduced by Curtin Uni. Students have been left in limbo with no plan forward. They cannot complete the degrees they began. Their lives are cruelly, inhumanely and unreasonably disrupted by a policy of excluding students (and valuable staff) from participation on the basis of their medical status i.e. accepting an experimental gene therapy that does NOT prevent Covid infection or transmission. Clearly, vaccinated students have been spreading Covid on Campus. Curtin uni, in an apparently purely punitive measure, is coercing young and healthy students, who are NOT vulnerable to Covid, into this dangerous and experimental jab which has serious potential adverse effects, which include the possibllity of death and such inflammatory conditions of the heart. The Guild leadership must be...

The daughter being interested in university studies we visited it during the open day. The university complex is very modern from what I could see and in a very open and green environment. Very pleasant place. The teachers and staff members were very helpful. Benefiting from a dual nationality, we hesitate to register our daughter here in Australia or in Belgium because the fees are 10x cheaper and for very recognized and very well ranked universities. Difficult choice, a more in-depth analysis and a comparison between the various Australian and Belgian Universities is essential before...
