Update: Sweet (or should I say savoury) redemption!!!! Went in today to give my local beloved Pretzel another shot, and believe me, I was not disappointed!! Saw they had a special deal in app for 2x Garlic and cheese pretzels for $8 each! What a goshdarned bargain! I was able to feast on 2 delightfully piping hot pretzels after a day of rain and they fulfilled my hankering for some cheesy loaded carbs. Really love that they give out in-app deals especially considering I’m a broke ass student. Pretzel, congratulations, you’ve won back my affections with your warm doughy goodness xx 💖 thank you for keeping a hungry boi well fed and happy 🥹
Previous review: Normally I really love this chain, but I was left feeling quite disappointed today with my experience. I’d been looking forward all day to getting a hot pretzel as a reward for myself after a day of study and I came in on the 24/07 at 5pm and placed an online order (Sale ID 45028). I waited for 27mins and saw people collecting their orders when the flavour was being called out. I assumed since there were no directions on how to collect orders made via app that they’d call out the order number provided in app or at least call out my name. When I finally went up to the counter to check if my order was ready, I was told that it was the order sitting in the brown paper bag on bench for 10minutes. I know this because I saw it being packed and when it was ready, no flavour/order number was called out, it was just left on the counter. When I opened the box I saw that my request to cut it up hadn’t even been followed. I took my sad, tepid pretzel with me as I walked to the bus stop and tried my best to enjoy it. But as I poked at the now cold soggy pretzel with my fork, the structural integrity of the cardboard broke, pushing the knife of Pretzel-y disappointment deeper into my heart. I’m not blaming the staff, she seemed nice enough & really busy at the time with other orders. It would be really nice to have a system in order to let people know when their food is ready though. Either by letting people know in app that they need to collect their food at the counter or having the staff yell out the order number/customer name when their food is ready. Maybe even offer to partially reheat their pretzel in one of the 6 ovens y’all have back there? Just a thought. Nothing is more disappointing than looking forward to a hot, delicious, steaming pretzel all day and receiving a cold, soggy knot of sadness. I’d normally say I’d never go back here, but I reckon I’ll give it another go, just because I do love the product (when it’s good, it’s bloody good) and I think it’s worth giving them another shot for redemption. Please don’t break my heart like this again Pretzel. I only just started at Curtin and don’t want to spend the next 4-6years without your cheesy spicy Chipotle...
Read moreI recently had the chance to visit “Pretzel,” the new pretzel shop located right in the heart of our university precinct. The place offers a delightful range of pretzels, from sweet to savory options. My curiosity got the best of me, so I went ahead and ordered “the lot.” I have to admit, the pretzels were quite tasty, and I enjoyed the variety of flavors they had to offer.
What struck me the most about this place was its appealing exterior and interior design, which clearly draws in a crowd. It’s a visually pleasing spot to grab a snack and hang out. However, there’s one minor hiccup - you are often expected to wait about 5 minutes just to place your order due to a shortage of staff. On top of that, the waiting time for your order can be a bit on the long side, averaging around 15 minutes or more, which can be a test of patience, especially when...
