My favourite restaurant in the world!
I have come here for my 17th, 18th and as of tonight, my 19th birthday. I plan to come here again for my 20th next year and every birthday for so long as humanly possible. Everything on their entire menu is beautiful, it feels so genuine and absolutely all of it makes you feel as though you're eating the world's most special home cooked meal just for you. Their agedashi tofu is my favourite, I get it almost everytime and if I could eat one meal for the rest of my life, this would be it.
There is not enough praise I can give these guys and it will forever be one of my favourite places in the entire world, if you're considering going here then with all my being I recommend it. I will admit that I am personally a lot more sentimental about this place than I should probably be so take of my words what you may, but it's hard not to be. Not only is the food world-class, positively everyone who works here is so polite and wonderful. They all work so hard and it shows.
Please give this place a go!!
My mother Criss used to be friends with a chef who works here called Tanaka-san, she had nothing but praise to give to him. Sadly, she passed away two weeks after my last birthday and I will admit I cried a little during my meal here this evening. Not out of sadness though, but out of joy. I hadn't felt joy like that since before she passed and I was overcome by the sense of being at home. I hadn't been as happy since, my heart really needed it.
Thank you to all at Chidori for existing. I'll be back as...
Read moreWhat a pleasure to experience subdued lighting and peaceful background music in the environment, the place emanates a tasteful vibe. The food is crafted with utmost care and each dish was a taste sensation — befitting the deep experience and top-drawer restaurant credentials and skills of the master chef and his hospitable partner. We are fortunate to live within walking distance of this gem and I expect to work my way through the entire menu soon. I marvel at the presence of such a high-class food operation in our local suburb but quietly rejoice at our...
Read moreRead moreWent there for dinner recently. We had the karaage chicken, agedashi tofu, shashimi platter and okonomiyaki. Cost $80 but would say quality is ~70% value especially in the suburb. Hardly any mayonnaise for the chicken (only swirls on the side of bowl). Tofu broth was great but a bit stingy on tofu (4 small pieces) especially when the dish cost $10. No tuna and only tail end pieces of the fish (not sure if it is even king fish) are included in shashimi for $30. The best dish is probably the okonomiyaki. Honest feedback, not sure will be returning,...
