Corner House Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Brisbane City

On the outside this place looks like your regular fish and chip shop. The honest truth is it's beyond your regular one. The food is absolutely incredible! The chips always cooled perfectly and don't even get me started on how crispy the potato scallops are! As a guy who has worked in numerous restaurants I can safely say they use fresh oil and clean oil on a regular basis! So many fish and Chip shops I have been to and everytime it's the same issue of soggy oily food. We recently tried this place a few weeks ago and we haven't stopped coming here. The fish battered or crumbed comes out crispy not oily and is sensational to the very last bite! With a big market of fish and Chip shops in this area that we have tried this is hands down the best one! Staff are very welcoming and friendly! Portion size is huge for what you pay! And the fact they have multiple in-house made items it's extremely awesome! If you're in the area with your family it's worth getting your lunch from here and taking it to the water! And if you're a local I encourage you to try this place!

Also no matter how busy they are they still manage to get food out at an incredible speed! To spend your money at the waterfront ones where the markups are high due to location for average fish and chips! This place is worth going to and taking it down to the water. Have not had a disappointing experience there and doubt I ever will! If ever you do though the management and staff or so wonderful that I'm sure they will correct whatever it is and you will be a long term customer like I forever will be! Please don't stop doing what you guys do and please never sell and leave! I have finally found a decent fish...

This fish and chip shop has been here for years, and thankfully, still does fish and chips the way I remember from when I was a kid. The uncooked food is in the chiller cabinet so you get an idea of what you are getting when you order, the prices are pretty good value, there is a good variety of things available (fish, chips, burgers, stuff like that) and they have a drink fridge with a decent selection of cold beverages (including my favourite golden circle tropical punch soft drink!) I'm really happy that there is still somewhere that does fish and chips the way it should be done, its just unfortunate that we live a long way away so we cant come as often as...

The people from Wynnum Facebook group recommended this place as one of the best seafood place in the area, and they were right! The chips are the proper thick chips that you get from fish and chips stores, the fish and crumbed seafood is delicious!! The crumb they used have a nice seasoning and flavour to it and different from other places I been to. The lovely people that works there are very friendly! The prices are very affordable as well.
