Flavours of Punjab — Restaurant in Brisbane City

We used to love coming to this place but the last few times the food has been a bit hit and miss. Decided to give it another try this weekend and regrettably this will be our last visit.

Despite being the only ones at the restaurant at the time it took ages to get our order taken (and this was after prompting them). The young lad serving didn't seem to be too familiar with the menu or the ipad they use and didn't see that keen on actually waiting tables. However we did eventually get our order taken.

The restaurant then started filling up and the queues for take out orders were out of the door not helped by the guy on the counter being on the phone constantly.

Although our food did arrive in about an hour and 15 mins the couple behind were loudly complaining about their delays and the family in front of us (arrived shortly after us) hadn't got any food by the time we left. They had also complained about their drinks which apparently weren't right.

The food has definitely gone down hill, less meat and a deterioration in the quality of the sources. Our go-to starters of onion bhajis are a shadow of their former selves and the less said about the dipping source the better.

It is a shame as we used to love this place now it is just meh. Seems to be popular with take away orders so they must be doing something right...

A few weeks ago we ordered takeaway from this restaurant. It turns out to be my worst dining experience ever. We found a cigarette butt in the naan bread. I can't believe it at first so both of us took a close look and we were pretty sure it is, a CIGARETTE BUTT! By no mean should appear in a naan bread. I feel so disgusting so we called the restaurant, the male Indian manager called back a while later and his explanation is "none of our staffs smoke". That doesn't explain why there is a cigarette butt in my bread OK? I don't care how it comes from but I'm definitely know any customer shouldn't see it in their food!!! The manager even laugh on the phone sounds like it is something hilarious while we feel so sick for the ruined diner. He asked us to send pictures to him, which we did but nothing is ever heard from him. All we want is just an apologise but since you think the best way to deal with innocent customer who had cigarette butt in their meal is to laugh at them and then ignore them, WE WILL NEVER COME BACK AGAIN!!! I don't normally write reviews but this time felt compelled due to our terrible experience. We ordered take away tonight and were informed that the food would be ready at 7pm. I turned up on time and paid for the food to them be told it shouldn't be too long. 25 minutes later I'm still standing there waiting for my food so asked how much longer Ihad to wait as I had people waiting in the car (I would have dropped them home if they told me how long I would be waiting) and was told they were just waiting on the pappadums. 5 minutes later they finally brought my food out and tried to get me to pay for it again!!! You could imagine my anger at this stage. When I arrived home we found that the pappadums we had been waiting for where missing. The food was under seasoned and the nahn bread was dry and crumbly. Such a disappointment as we had ordered successfully from this restaurant in the past. I don't know if it is under new management but they have just lost 4...
