Following the initial purchase, the business exhibited a marked lack of responsiveness regarding the estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the shoe cabinet. Eventually, they provided a vague indication that the item should arrive within the next seven business days. Unfortunately, the item arrived in a poor condition, with torn packaging and significant damage to the timber components.
Upon sending the business photographs, they offered a $100 compensation refund, which I accepted at the time, while still holding onto the hope that I could repair the damage and assemble the unit to a functional state.
The following day, I assembled the unit only to discover that the extent of the damage was more severe than initially anticipated. There were finish imperfections, and upon assembly, it became evident that the unit was not fit for purpose. The shoe cabinet did not accommodate shoes larger than size 8/9. As evident in the attached photographs, my size 9/10 shoes did not fit within the unit. Additionally, the wood stain did not extend to the ends of the individual pieces, revealing unstained bamboo. The overall quality of the product was extremely poor.
I have attempted to contact the customer care number on multiple occasions, only to receive recorded messages indicating that the number was unavailable and suggesting that I check the number and try again. I have also emailed requesting a return call, but I have not received any response from the company. Furthermore, I have confirmed with the business that I will be submitting this complaint unless a full refund of the purchase, excluding the initial $100 damage compensation refund, is provided. I only received one confirmation email on the day I ordered the product online and after they went completely silent on me for the following two weeks. I tried numerous times to get in touch over the phone but I ended up in a voicemail almost everytime. Eventually someone answered, and I asked when can I expect the product to be delivered. No apologies, no sorry for the wait, just a rude mention the order will be delivered in (another) 5 days. I waited for another 5 days and called again, many times, until someone answered. The same guy tells me very blunt that he'll call me back and that I need to wait. All felt very weird, like he had a script he was reading from. Gave me the feeling that they have had similar situations before, so I looked them up on Google reviews and saw that a lot of other people had the same experience. This made me realise it's better to ask for a refund. I called back a few times, the guy answers and tells me he can't give me a refund. I had to threat that I'll make a complaint to the ombudsman it I don't get my money back today. So, almost one month waiting, no product, a lot of time wasted with follow ups, and money blocked in their accounts for all this time.

After payment, I only received one vague notification with no tracking information. No updates were provided, leaving me in the dark for weeks. Attempts to contact them by phone and email either went to voicemail or were unanswered for a month. When they finally replied, they said there was a delay and promised to send the item within 3 weeks – but nothing arrived. I messaged again for an update, and they said there was still a delay. Having to constantly follow up highlights poor communication on their part. It ultimately took almost 3 months to receive the item. You would think a purchase within Australia would arrive much faster. The product appears to have been shipped from China and feels cheaply made – exactly what I was trying to avoid by purchasing directly from an Australian store. Had I known this, I would have looked elsewhere for a quality product in hopes of supporting local manufacturing.
