I used to visit this place 1-2 times a month and always took away food. However, at the end of last month, I realized the kebab I brought home was not chicken but lamb, which I cannot eat. To make it worse, the wrong kebab also contained some unidentifiable, extremely dry chicken scraps, and I realized I had received the worst food ever. I was shocked because I had never received such food before, as their chicken kebabs were always juicy. One of the main reasons I loved this place was also that they would fry chips fresh upon order. Their chips were always so crispy, hot, and perfect that I had to eat them while driving. However, the chips I received that day were soggy and lukewarm, as if they had been fried a while ago. I called the restaurant to report my disappointing and incorrect order, and the staff apologized, promising a refund. But the refund didn’t happen for several days, and I had to call them twice more. On the third call, they told me they would check and get back to me, but now, a month later, I haven’t received the refund or heard anything from them. I am deeply disappointed in a restaurant I used to love.

Bruv mate, check this out. We’re at Kebab HQ in Calamvale, and they’ve got this Tuesday special, yeah? Turkish Adana, $20, fresh off the grill. This is that real deal. You know when you take a bite, and it just hits you like, this is what I’ve been missing, where have you been. The Adana? Bro, it’s banging. The meat’s got that perfect char, spicy, juicy, melts in your mouth. You can tell they’re not cutting corners here, this is legit. It’s that authentic Turkish flavor you only get when they know what they’re doing. Now look at the sides, you’ve got your fresh salad, not that soggy rubbish, this is crisp, fresh as. Then you’ve got the rice, cooked just right, fluffy, not too sticky. And that jajik dip? Bruv, it’s next level. Creamy, tangy, balances out the spices in the Adana perfectly. They even throw in some grilled veggies and flatbread, like, they’re not holding back here, you know this and that. This is that sort of feed that’s worth your time, worth your money. If you’re not getting around this on a Tuesday only $20 special, you’re missing out, straight up.

The charcoal chef at Kebab HQ is a magician. The meats he prepares are juicy, tender, and have the right amount of smokey goodness that makes each bite enjoyable. Our Turkish friend said that the the tastes reminded her of home and that she can't find this level of Turkish food in her neighborhood. We've been to this restaurant many times, and the food has always been consistent. It is usually busy with a mix of dine-in, take-away orders, as well as delivery pick-ups. This atmosphere makes it feel more like a fast-food establishment rather than a proper sit-down restaurant. The drink selection is extensive here and combo options are available, however, the deli case is not very cold and they do not have ice available. The front house staff could be friendlier, but they are bombarded with order after order and may be more focused on getting customers into the queue than anything else. All this said, the food is the star of the show! Get a few of your best mates and feast of the mixed grille. You won't be sorry! FYI, My partner was underwhelmed by the falafel.

So, we went to Kebab HQ for 4 times in total, I rate each visit.

1st was a trail ⭐️, the service was horrible and they removed us from a table we already sat on, and they said it is reserved, and after we went to another table, they put the reserved sign! It was crowded, so we might understand why the service was not upto expectations. The food was average to its price, and the atmosphere was not that great. So we decided to give it another try and not in a rush hour.

2nd was an amazing lunch ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, we made sure we booked a booth, and the food was supreme and the whole experience was top notch.

3rd ⭐️⭐️ we booked a booth, but not sure why the food was very dry and tasteless and burnt a bit, maybe different cook from our last visit.

4th no stars, we booked a booth like before, but this time they gave our reservation to another family, we were not late, but their only explanation that they did a mistake, and we have to wait for another booth to clear, so we placed the order and waited. After 40min of waiting, they told us that they misplaced our order paper, and they didn't even start preparing it yet! And we have to wait for another 15min, we didn't want to risk it by having either burnt or undercooked meal and decided to leave.

After this I don't think I will ever eat in this restaurant again, as their food is not always best and varies between good and bad for the exact same meal, depends on your luck who is making it, and the booking is not always guaranteed and they will give it away. And if they are having a rush, you will see clearly how a single waitress cannot handle serving...

Perhaps this restaurant is a victim of its own success. I have been there 2 previous times, and enjoyed the food and the service.

However, last Saturday night, it was very busy and perhaps understaffed. I ordered the same menu as I've had in the past, and after waiting 20 minutes, they bought out the wrong dishes for myself and my partner. I asked for chips, they gave me rice. My partner asked for Tabouli, they bring out the garden salad. I asked for specific different sauces, they bring the wrong sauces. So they said that they would redo the dishes. But I felt they put us at the back of the queue again, after waiting another 20 minutes. While I was waiting, I told my partner I have a feeling now they will muck-up the order a second time... sure enough, they did. So they fixed the order for the third time, there and then, and we finally got to eat, but unfortunately the meat and the chips were cold.

When we were leaving, my partner said that it looks like we should strike this restaurant off our list. I said I hope not; let's hope they will improve their service, because the meals and the prices are reasonable, but the service has...

I recently visited Kebab HQ and here's my experience:

The food was flavorful and well-prepared, especially the kebabs and snack packs. The portions were generous, which is a great value for the price. However, there were slight inconsistencies in the quality—some dishes felt fresher and better seasoned than others. The staff were generally polite and attentive, though there was a minor delay during peak hours. This seemed understandable given the rush. Overall, they maintained a friendly attitude and tried to ensure a good experience.

The casual, family-friendly vibe made it a pleasant place for a relaxed meal. While the decor was simple, the restaurant was clean and welcoming, suitable for both quick bites and longer stays.

The pricing felt fair given the portion sizes and the variety on the menu. It’s a good spot for affordable, hearty Kebab HQ is a solid choice if you’re looking for convenient, Turkish-inspired comfort food in Brisbane. With a bit more consistency in food quality, it could become a standout spot. I would recommend trying it out, especially for takeaway or delivery options, which they handle...
