So, we went to Kebab HQ for 4 times in total, I rate each visit.
1st was a trail âď¸, the service was horrible and they removed us from a table we already sat on, and they said it is reserved, and after we went to another table, they put the reserved sign! It was crowded, so we might understand why the service was not upto expectations. The food was average to its price, and the atmosphere was not that great. So we decided to give it another try and not in a rush hour.
2nd was an amazing lunch âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸, we made sure we booked a booth, and the food was supreme and the whole experience was top notch.
3rd âď¸âď¸ we booked a booth, but not sure why the food was very dry and tasteless and burnt a bit, maybe different cook from our last visit.
4th no stars, we booked a booth like before, but this time they gave our reservation to another family, we were not late, but their only explanation that they did a mistake, and we have to wait for another booth to clear, so we placed the order and waited. After 40min of waiting, they told us that they misplaced our order paper, and they didn't even start preparing it yet! And we have to wait for another 15min, we didn't want to risk it by having either burnt or undercooked meal and decided to leave.
After this I don't think I will ever eat in this restaurant again, as their food is not always best and varies between good and bad for the exact same meal, depends on your luck who is making it, and the booking is not always guaranteed and they will give it away. And if they are having a rush, you will see clearly how a single waitress cannot handle serving...
Read morePerhaps this restaurant is a victim of its own success. I have been there 2 previous times, and enjoyed the food and the service.
However, last Saturday night, it was very busy and perhaps understaffed. I ordered the same menu as I've had in the past, and after waiting 20 minutes, they bought out the wrong dishes for myself and my partner. I asked for chips, they gave me rice. My partner asked for Tabouli, they bring out the garden salad. I asked for specific different sauces, they bring the wrong sauces. So they said that they would redo the dishes. But I felt they put us at the back of the queue again, after waiting another 20 minutes. While I was waiting, I told my partner I have a feeling now they will muck-up the order a second time... sure enough, they did. So they fixed the order for the third time, there and then, and we finally got to eat, but unfortunately the meat and the chips were cold.
When we were leaving, my partner said that it looks like we should strike this restaurant off our list. I said I hope not; let's hope they will improve their service, because the meals and the prices are reasonable, but the service has...
Read moreI recently visited Kebab HQ and here's my experience:
The food was flavorful and well-prepared, especially the kebabs and snack packs. The portions were generous, which is a great value for the price. However, there were slight inconsistencies in the qualityâsome dishes felt fresher and better seasoned than others. The staff were generally polite and attentive, though there was a minor delay during peak hours. This seemed understandable given the rush. Overall, they maintained a friendly attitude and tried to ensure a good experience.
The casual, family-friendly vibe made it a pleasant place for a relaxed meal. While the decor was simple, the restaurant was clean and welcoming, suitable for both quick bites and longer stays.
The pricing felt fair given the portion sizes and the variety on the menu. Itâs a good spot for affordable, hearty Kebab HQ is a solid choice if youâre looking for convenient, Turkish-inspired comfort food in Brisbane. With a bit more consistency in food quality, it could become a standout spot. I would recommend trying it out, especially for takeaway or delivery options, which they handle...
