Shocking. I turned up for a free 5 day pass (having just moved to Australia and trialing new gyms) and was told I had to sign up to use the "free" trial. I eventually agreed to sign up and the gym facilities are unreal to be fair. Very clean as well. It's just that they're completely incompetent. I must've called up on 6 or 7 different occasions to resolve a payment that shouldn't have been taken. I had 3 free PT sessions to use and David the PT was good, knew exactly what he was doing. It's just a shame that when I was honest and said i wouldn't be looking to do a long program with him, he lost interest straight away. Didn't care at all. That was the nature of the staff there. Once they signed you up, they didn't want to know you.
When I cancelled my contract (came back to the UK) I had a $9.95 payment taken (quarterly PT session) taken on my last payment - 4 weeks after I had cancelled my contract!! Brett the manager told me he couldn't refund it which has left my Aussie bank account overdrawn just before I planned on closing it. He has since ignored my email.
Totally incompetent and...
Read moreI have sent you a Facebook message but no response. Sorry guys - but this is thoughtless... my experience with Goodlife staff today from my post shared: âOMG! Just had to share - I donât normally do this... but it has to be said. I was just stopped by âGoodlife Gymâ in Ashgrove & offered a free plastic water bottle as a gym promotion. When I asked about this & suggested it may not be the wisest choice in this day & age... I was told âin this day & age some people canât afford to buy water in glass bottlesâ. What????? I was so shocked I just had to laugh it was so ridiculous. I am still in shock. Goodlife should be doing WAY better than this... hugely disappointed in their lack of thought & attitude; and the attitude of their staff.â I would love to hear a response please from management. I just noticed someone else posted about the water bottle promo recently too. Please re-think your marketing strategy (and...
Read moreI genuinely like this gym and it is sad to see how far the standards have fallen.
If Google reviews weighted more recent reviews higher, this place would be a 1/5. I have been a member at Goodlife for 15 years and this Ashgrove site used to be fantastic. Over the past 1.5 years now multiple issues have arisen: admin staff (all except one) seem to always be on their phones or talking to each other and never making eye contact or friendly greeting customers. Almost as if they are âtoo coolâ to be getting paid to do the easiest job in the world. The air conditioning for the past month now has been atrocious and hardly working. In addition, (and this issue has somewhat improved) the evenings seem to be an after school day care centre. The standards here have dropped and when there is so much gym venue competition, customers have plenty of options to choose from. Unfortunately complacency doesnât change unless...
