Hashtag Burgers and Waffles Ashgrove — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I find it really amusing the people here who have left reviews saying there was no table service and that they 'ordered drinks' but had to keep reminding staff they ordered them. It states very clearly in the QR ordering app (and I assume when you order at the counter) that any drinks not made by them you are to grab from the fridge yourself. Also, there IS no table service. Personally I prefer QR ordering as the mode of ordering as I can browse at my own pace so I approve of this place. The burgers, chips, and everything we had was great. Our only fault was the waiting time of 1hr+ for a table of three of us with three burgers and two sides. We did have a family of 6 who ordered in front of us so I gave the kitchen the benefit of the doubt because they had to make their order, but I assume we may have also been pushed back due to all the online orders coming through. Next time I think we will order online them come and pick it up so we are given priority. Also don't change your decor because one person doesn't like a sticker with a swear on it. I could tell when we walked in that space it was more an older kid/adult space anyway, not generally a 'family area'. A half an hour wait for food when a place is busy is nothing to cry about either. People from Ashgrove just have a lot of self-importance for some reason. Keep doing what you're doing but maybe get a couple more chefs in the kitchen to help with the rushes.

Oh and whoever that friendly young guy was who was super happy and seemed like he enjoyed his job, you're a breath of fresh air coming from one hospitality...

I honestly regret having to write a review like this. Visited tonight 21/12/23. Ordered a PBJ burger, chicken special and a chips at approximately 6:15pm, by about 6:25pm no chips or burgers.. which is reasonable but the store was not busy, at 6:30pm I go up to the counter to ask if I can change my order to takeaway as I actually have somewhere to be, I see through to the kitchen some fries in a basket, girl behind the counter walks out back for a few minutes and then Informs me that's okay we're just waiting on 2 burgers... No idea why I couldn't be given the fries then

6:40pm still no food, I ask what is the hold up and the girl informs me she's unsure and goes to check in the kitchen and said they're still waiting on the burgers, I ask for a refund this time as I really have to go and she informs me she doesn't know how to do a refund on card so I got cash back (that's fine). I ask politely if those chips that were in the basket that are now in a takeaway container were for my order and she said yes, so if I did get my burgers I would have had 20 minute old chips to go with it, as I was about to leave with my refund she informed me the food was ready if I wanted to change my mind and take the food not the refund.

This experience has actually ruined any enjoyment I have previously had here as last time I went they forgot the waffle buns after paying for them, sadly to say this is the last time I'll be visiting the Ashgrove store for a...

The good:

When the burgers and fries are good here, they’re the best you’ll get anywhere. Period. The first time I came here (opening night) was incredible. The lunch deals are pretty well-priced, even discounting the other burgers on the menu to be cheaper too, which is great. Getting a full burger + chips + drink meal for $20 isn’t bad at all!

The not-so-good:

The staff. I’m not here to rag on people working in a job that they need to get by - I get it. But not sighing in my face when I ask how far away my pick-up order is when it’s already 15 minutes late isn’t the best look. Wait times. Get better at this please. I can’t count how many times I’ve been sitting in an entirely empty restaurant and still had to wait upwards of 20 minutes for a burger and some fries. And that timeframe is generous. Do NOT come here if you’re in a hurry. Incorrect items. I’ve had four takeaway orders now where one of the burgers has been completely wrong. Read the dockets properly - some people have allergies. The atmosphere needs work. The tables are spaced in such a weird way, and the blaring repetitive music is too much. I was in a few weeks ago and they played the same song THREE times in a row, and always so loud that you can’t hear anything at your table other than the music.
