Jack Purcell Meats — Local services in Brisbane City

I bought pork sausages from there and when I got home and cooked them up I noticed that they weren't the same as usual and that the tasted like beef. I went down and spoke to one of the butchers and explained what happened I told him that they didn't look like the ones in the case I asked if I could return the rest of them because we can't eat them due to allergies. He said no not really but he asked the manager but just stood there. I sent a message to the company I was told that the used a new meal in the pork sausages and that's why they looked different and that the manager did come to speak to me but I was already gone. I was in the store for 5 more mins after speaking to the Butcher before heading to the counter and I apparently didn't say anything about allergies. And now say i can return the sausages to see what the problem is.They didn't seem to care that 3 customers got violently ill after eating the sausages. I was so ill I had to take a day off work. Nice to blame customers for your failure to advertise allergy alerts on your products especially when the customer comes in regularly and buys bulk of the pork sausages....

Went in there today, 15-09-2025. If I could give a 0 star I would.

The lady serving (Has tattoo's on her neck) was rude when she miss-heard what my wife requested and gossiped to the elderly gentleman (butcher) cutting meet about us standing and listening to her.

If this was a once off it would be fine, however after a second mistake she actually said "Come on guys to us as though it was our mistake that she has to serve us".

Finally the tipping point was when an elderly couple entered and she offered to assist (Finally good job) but was requested to wait, she again went off complaining about "us customers" to the butcher behind her, who was cutting my meat as she was not qualified I assume.

I could hear them both saying how they hate helping customers.

Turns out the elderly man was blind and his assistant was describing the meat to him. No apology nothing, just sullen behavior! What a disgrace.

I tried to complain but the system available was terrible to and filling out a form is useless as no guarantee of the complaint getting to management.

Have supported this business for a while now being a Kiwi, I drive from Arana Hills to Virginia just to go there, I have blood clots in my leg so walking around is an immense struggle, had done all my shop then when asked if I was a member I said yes, lady puts the membership in and price goes up by one cent, I questioned it thinking membership usually makes things go down and I am met with a (it’s 1 cent are you gonna pay for it or not cause I’ve got other things to do) as did I, if it wasn’t for the pain I’d already put my leg through to do my shop I would of just left it all there. She then explains membership is only cheaper Mon and Wed and you accumulate credit. No one has ever told me this the conversation then turns more polite but I will not...
