I attended the Vend Dog Markets - The shops are ok, very repetitive but itâs a nice vibe. I was personally left really disappointed by the dog race.
They donât actually make sure that everyone lets the dog go at the same time so if you let your dog go early then you can win with no problems.
I took my dog today for the purpose of the race, iv heard great things about the atmosphere of the race and thought Iâd give it a go, a child who looked younger than 10 let their dog go on 2 (not go) and they won the race. I brought this up with the guy running the race and he clearly stated âwell we donât have video evidence of thatâ despite the fact to told him I had filmed it therefore I did, where you can clearly see what had happened - so they won despite not following the actual instructions which had clearly been told to everyone.
Other people in the race also talked about how disappointing it was as the dog was clearly let go very early (it had pretty well made it to the finish line by the time the other dogs were let go) which left everyone really confused and they also said they wonât be back as the person running it was quite arrogant and didnât care about our concerns.
I know itâs for fun but it really takes the fun out of it when people can win by cheating.
So what Iâm saying, itâs easy to win the race - just donât follow the rules because they donât...
Read moreI've loved this place for years but was disappointed today.
Hubby and I have always ordered pickup, but today we decided to treat ourselves and dine-in.
The female that served us this morning (Brunette hair, she had a yellow star pimple patch sticker on her forehead, around 25years old, long knee-length shorts, black and white high top chucks) was EXTREMELY rude. She could not have cared less if we dropped dead. Horrible attitude and look on her face. I think she might have even roller her eyes at us.
We were nothing but polite to her while ordering and she was very condescending, and did not want to be there.
We decided to dine in today, to celebrate the news of finding out we are having a baby. A very happy day for us; really turned sour by the treatment of this individual employee.
In the past, when I go in to pick up take out orders I've always been greeted by extremely lovely servers and staff have always gone out of their way to be friendly and say hello.
Today was something different.
We will give Vend another chance and not let one employee ruin a great run. But if we're treated like this again we'll definitely take our $80 for lunch elsewhere.
(For reference, if any staff and employees read this, we are the couple that couldn't turn the dog tap off this morning, approx 11:15am outside...
Read moreWeâd heard about VEND from customers & friends in business so thought to explore beyond our own area and took drive to the other side of town.
The cafe is a must try. Great chefs with great food delivery in both taste and presentation. Well done to those working hard in the kitchen. You all do such a great job and the service is also very quick, reliable and the team so friendly.
Seems VEND has really outdone themselves with its business model. Thereâs lots to celebrate here. With shopping centre rent prices as high as they are. VEND is a great opportunity for small business owners to explore and consider. The only downsides I see visible is the wait time for a spot to arise and theft.
Items of each business is left unmanned with loose items on display. Thereâs no real security a sides from surveillance cameras but who knows if theyâve a team of Loss Prevention observing cameras all day all with immediate communications to ground staff.
Looks a little like at owners risk. In which case â if youâre the business owner - it would be a good idea to shelve all items behind glass or have items on lanyard locks. No one is exempt from theft in which case youâd need theft insurance or enough money to replace and replenish...
