Not a regular and agree the pool grounds are presentable and enjoyed lap swim activity with a toddler on entry before 9am.
At 9.30am the pools were out of public use for synchronised swim training in dive pool and inter primary school carnival in lane pools. To use the toddler area I had to approach desk to ask it be turned on. Then our toddler enjoyed it. Also other toddlers.
At 11am an arranged time to hand toddler over at gate then swim a few laps myself. I had no choice but to leave. THERE WAS NO LANE or SPACE for a general public person to swim. This is not posted. I saw no exterior sign at entry until I left. I was not told at entry payment of $6.60. I requested at desk a pass to return another time and this was declined.
Is Claremont a public pool or not? Co-ordinating times and several modes of transport for our pool visit today was not simple. I left dry and disappointed. Will I return? Other local public pools have opportunities for all ages...
Read moreYes nice old -style aquatic centre. Well maintained. The only negative I have is based on a recent purchase. My partner surprised me with a pair of barhers I had mentioned I had seen there and liked. He was told by the staff they could be exchanged if they were not the correct size etc. Not so! Despite returning them with tags still attached and obviously not worn and a receipt I was informed they do not exchange swimwear. So we were left with bathers that cost $120.00 ( very nice Funkita's) and not feeling too impressed with this place. I have since bought another pair but not from here! Ok if you don't exchange swimwear then educate your staff.
Also the pools are inundated with just about every school in perth having lessons and carnivals etc during the warmer months midweek so you will be limited to only one lane or two that will be available. Best to ring in advance and...
Read moreI love the Claremont pool and am here a couple times a week. The front desk staff is fantastic. They smile and quickly ring you up the $6 for open swim. The swim shop is well stocked with Funkita bathers, caps/hats, goggles and swim training equipment.
The women's change room has about 6-8 showers some are only "cold" and others have hot water. Some showers have doors on them for a little privacy others have nothing for privacy. There are plenty of toilets in working order but sometimes they are out of toilet paper early in the morning/late at night. It would be really great if they got lockers for the ladies change room! As of now, you take your belongings to the pool deck while you swim.
The pool is usually pretty busy at most times of the day especially in spring and summer, but swimmers make room for you in their lanes if you ask nicely. I like that they are open late into...
