Probably wouldnt hesitate to give 5 stars if this was written a month ago. Im in here 3 times a week spending around $50-$80 each time (im a deadset carnivore! Great butcher, quality graded meat....but....last few times i felt a little stooged by what appears to be some slight of hand shenanigans when meat is being bagged. What appears to be freshly cut and beautifully presented sirloin on the tray has underneath the top layer a much inferior cut, and nowhere near as fresh. I asked for four of these finely displayed steaks and thought it odd the young fella slid the tray back from display when selecting these. When i got home the outer two visible were the fresh ones and the two inners nothing like the others in regard to quality and freshness. A few days later i head in and exactly the same trickery as attempted by the young lady who served me...but this time i ducked down to see her grabbing the inferior "understeaks" i stopped her and made it clear i wanted the same ones i can see! A few days later..this Thursday i didnt pay attention and missed the "bagging" of the sirloin and scotch fillet and again i get a mix of prime fresh and steak that was much inferior and spoiled in 48hrs in a very low temp fridge while the others were bright and fresh.
I dont mind recieving lower quality product if its what i think im getting, but as im paying top level pricing on this much inferior product that is being offloaded to the unsuspecting in such a manner is really disappointing.
I used to travel 30 mins to the butcher ive been using for years but wanting to support local traders i gave this butcher a shot....you were going so well up to the last 3 visits and given 3 different staff did exactly the same thing i feel its been directed from management.
Sell your inferior meat that is lower quality and or close to spoil date at a reasonable price to an informed consumer, dumping it on the unsuspecting is poor form....ive just had to throw out steak that was spoiled and not the quality id serve to my...
Read moreSo I got myself a couple of T-bones. Now I won’t lie the flavour was there but it’s hard to give this butcher a 5-star rating when the younger staff lie to your face. And both the Tbones didn’t even have an eyes
What the staff lied to me about was the eye on the Tbones I specifically asked if the eye was included she said yes we do include the eye but I didn’t check until I got home so I payed top dollar for 2 half steaks no eyes
-1 star for lying to my face -1 for the missing eyes on the T-bones
Thanks for the lies an the half steaks I won’t be coming back you did me dirty on my...
Read moreTo all those that complain that the meat from Fresh Cuts does not have a long shelf life, that is because unike Woolworths and Coles that pack their meat products with preservatives, Fresh Cuts dont. Like all fresh products that have an absence of preservatives it should probably been prepared and eaten within a day or two of purchase. All of Fresh Cuts products are fresh and full of flavour and Ive never been let down. For those who are brave and think they can handle hot foodgive the Fijian Fire...
