Barcella Restaurant — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

The food was delicious, the music was lovely and the service was good. However, I have taken two stars out because we waited an hour for our starters, which had kind of spoiled the evening. When we asked when our food was going to arrive, we were told that there was a problem with the pizza ovens, and hence our starter pizzas and meatballs were to be delayed. This did not ring true as there were people who came in well after us and received similar items (such as the garlic pizza) off the menu and had eaten their mains before our starters were served. We were two minutes from leaving the restaurant, but our pizza had arrived and soon after the meatballs had as well. Our mains were served almost straight after we had finished. When we went up to pay, our server had taken off the price of the pizzas from the bill. All in all, it was a great night but we just wish that the food had been served earlier. I believe that the star rating i had posted last night was extremely harsh, and I have since then changed it by reevaluating the aspects of the night. Ordered grilled salmon, unfortunately, one hour later I felt something not right a few hours later I realised it’s was food poisoning, stayed up all night throwing up and in toilet in spud I seriously thought I was going to pass out 24 hrs later lost over 2kg from throwing up, stayed home for 5 days, nothing I have ever experienced, saw the doctors next day gave me a drip and confirmed it’s was food poisoning. Contacted the Restaurant to inform them ,two days later the owner called me, they didn’t care they pretty much said it’s wasn’t their kitchen at fault that I got food poising, I had every paper form doctors and tests that it’s was the salmon, they thought I was trying to scam them or something but I was genuine about what had happened to me and I wasn't after money or anything. They didn’t even offer a refund of a meal or at least say sorry like normal Restaurant will do, they said if I want to take it further they have a legal team that I have to go through , i personally don’t have time for that I left them be , they are terrible business owners a kind gesture can...

Attended Barcella for lunch, ordered arancini balls as a starter for 2. 4 balls provided, these were served hot and were very tasty. Mains, ordered mushrooms & asparagus risotto and Spanish chorizo & chicken paella. Risotto - when stared to eat was so over powered with herb, possibly thyme was not able to eat. Nearly all of the meal left due to being un edible Paella - gluey, burnt and stuck to the bottom of the bowl, flavourless, except for the over powering herb, possibly thyme again. Most of the meal left due to being unedible. Service was very attentive, when asked how the meal was, we reported was not the best. This was reported to the manager as we left, who looked like they were going to come and talk to us about the meal. But once they seen we were paying the bill, they decided there was no need to talk and did not need any feed back, as the bill was paid.
