Thai Victoria — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

Underwhelming - We came here on the recommendation of someone who had dined here and loved. I will have to have a word with them next time I see them to them and make sure they weren't talking about a different restaurant. We arrived at 6pm under a reservation - we ordered drinks, Entrée and Mains from the Chef Recommendation in the menu. The Entrees came out fast that's where the wheels fell off and that's where the 1 star will remain. We ordered drinks and they didn't come out, had to remind staff to bring them out. After about 1.5 hours later, we still hadn't rec'd our mains - There were only 2 staff present and the staff appeared to have no idea what was going on or what to do. Priority seemed to service the people who ordered take-away over the dining public. So we decided to wait an extra 15 minutes - So after 1 hr and 45 minutes we decided to leave. We paid for the entrée and the drinks after telling the cashier we haven't rec'd the mains and will just go. The cashier said that they could prioritise our mains...which probably meant they haven't even started to cook ours yet! The mention of we are busy was floated around. We decided to give this place a second go. The first time we (Mum and I) went, the food was amazing but service was slow. We were told a chef was sick. We decided to take our husbands last night - several months after our first visit. Once again the food is amazing but the service - well there was no service. We got the entrees and then after waiting a considerable time, two of the mains were bought out before the entrees were cleared. We advised our husbands to start so they didn't go cold. Good job we did as 1/2 hour later we finally got hold of someone to ask where our other two dishes were. One of the dishes was delivered with apology and excuse of a sick chef. How coincidental that the two times we visit, you have a sick chef. I had to wait another 15minutes for my main. By the time I had got it, the others had finished their meals and I ate mine quickly so as not to hold anyone else up so really didn't enjoy as much as I should have. We booked a table for 2 on the 25th March 5.45pm. Arrived finding only 2 other tables of people and we ordered within 5 minutes. Soup came after 15 minutes and was not great but ok. After plates were removed we waited 30 minutes for the first main dish to arrive which was a stir fry. We then sat for another few minutes waiting for the curry and rice but it didn't come. I asked a waitress for the remaining dishes and she returned with the fried rice but not the curry. We waited another 5 minutes then I asked the waitress (who took our order) for our remaining curry. She went into the kitchen then promptly returned asking what curry we were waiting for ? I replied the Penang chicken curry (dry curry)She went and another 5 minutes later she returned with a flavourless wet chicken curry. So we ate the curry with the remaining cold rice.
