In the area and was in our current food quest criteria so decided on this as the place to go. Line up as we approach is always a good sign as well as the , even in windy conditions, smell of the smoke wafting. Quick wait in line and one of the friendliest staff ever served us, wife had the quick ask as to what`s a sloppy joe, Savoury mince sloppy with cheese pickles .. sounds great. Ambience of the place, well is at the now defunct building, but rebuilding Beenleigh Distillery, so they are at ends to start, but created a great vibe, tables on astro turf, there own little space that just works. As much as the line up when we arrived, the wait was minimal, no table service, order from the truck pick up from the truck .. but the attitude and service from the staff is 5 class friendly and helpful. The food .. ... Filthy fries, need to salt the fries umm some .. ? The gravy and cheese sauce is great and the meat, we went with both, is excellent, so smoky and the pork was juicy as. Beef was a little dry, but is beef. Good serve of meat on them too. The sloppy joes though ... savoury mince what ? Was wet mince, watery with some bits of tomato thru them. Not sure if they even used any salt. Was tasteless trash, the cheese didn't even add flavour. And worse there was that much water in the mince the bottom of bun was soggy to the bottom. Overall, service top notch, nice place, the smoked meats tasted might fine. The fries add some salt, and the sloppy joe damn fail on that...

(7/10) โ€“ A Tasty Meal with Room for Improvement on Portions

I recently tried the $22 Brisket + Chips + Slaw & Sauce meal, and while much of it was delicious, the portioning could be better.

Brisket (9/10) The Brisket was the star of the show. For my first time trying brisket, I was thoroughly impressed by how juicy and tender it was. My only critique is the portion size โ€“ approximately 100-130g felt quite small for a $22 meal, leaving me wishing for more of that fantastic meat.

The chips were equally impressive, scoring a solid 9/10. Their in-house seasoning was superb, and they were perfectly cooked with a satisfying crunch and a good serving size.

Slaw (7/10) As someone who typically avoids coleslaw, This was quite good โ€“ a well-balanced sweet, creamy and tangy flavor, thankfully free of any unappetizing cabbage stems.

Brisket Gravey (7/10) The brisket gravy was rich and flavorful, though it was a touch too salty for my taste and quite thin, making it less ideal for dipping chips. The small quantity also left me wanting more.

Ultimately, it was a very enjoyable meal. If the brisket portion were more generous and the gravy thicker and more plentiful, I'd easily rate this an 8/10.

Also i asked for takeaway but got an open box so not sure if this is how they do takeaway but almost lost it on the drive home luckly the coleslaw landed in the box and...

This is our first time here, a walk by really on the way to a gig. We had the pork ribs, and the combo box of pulled pork and brisket. We also got some burnt ends.

The food was excellent. The meat fell of the ribs, and had good balance between smoke and sauce. The brisket and pulled pork was spot on too.

The staff were nice, and helpful. The prices are quite good considering all the work that goes into good smoked meat.

The venue is lay back and largely open while still being under cover. It has seating for about 30-40, some of that shared with the Mexican place next door. Next door also had Friday night live blues playing, so that was a bonus.

This place is easy to recommend. We'd be happy to go back another time.

And come back we did, to their new premises around the corner. The venue is great, with live music three days a week.

The pulled pork and brisket are excellent. The burnt ends this time were under-done (still lots of unrendered pork belly) unfortunately, but the taste was still good. The pork ribs were superb.

The sauce flavours were very good and we bought two sauces for cooking at home, as a replacement for Sweet Baby Ray's Kickin' Bourbon, which you can't get here anymore.

Easily one of the best tasting smokehouse places in Queensland - and we've tried almost all of...
