Deer Park Meats on North St in Hadfield is hands down one of the best local gems around. The owner is not only a brilliant butcher but genuinely one of the kindest people I’ve come across. I recently went in to buy some Adana, but accidentally bought sausages instead. As luck would have it, he was there at the time, and when I explained what happened, he didn’t hesitate—he handed me the Adana free of charge. I offered several times to pay him, but he just smiled and insisted I take it home and enjoy it. It’s rare to come across such generosity and genuine warmth these days, and it’s exactly why I’ll be going back time and time again. Honestly very disappointed today to get some lamb cutlets , being regular customer , I can say that I can differentiate the meat but looks like today they have borrowed the lamb cutlets from foodworks ( neighbour next to them ) as we have tried both so can say definitely which shop it from , so today we got the foodworks lamb cutlets from them on almost double the price , looks like they don’t really don’t care about quality as it just money for them . Purchased whole chicken from this place and paid for 1.194 Kg of whole chicken, asked them to cut the chicken up in curry pieces. When I got the bag of chicken, upon checking I found out that the total weight is 900g… so they overcharged me by 300g. Upon telling the shop assistant that the chicken is less in weight than what I paid for and that I should be charged for the 900g instead of 1.194g, he said he cannot do that and I must pay the full price for the whole chicken, even though I received 300g less.
