Advise to avoid, there are plenty of other Viet and Asian options in the area if that's what you're craving.
Very poor service, ok pricing, food very hit and miss.
Edit: Good Friday meant limited choices so we decided to give this place another go. Bad decision. This time most of the food came out at the same time but they seemed to have missed my husband's order. Not only was there no apology, the waiter who took our order told the other that we only ordered those dishes within our hearing (I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he thought we don't understand Vietnamese, though that would be weird as my parents were speaking in Vietnamese). We had ordered 3 stir-fried seafood on rice dishes plus cubed beef on rice. All our prawns had that old fishy taste. The beef dish was ok though a bit tough.
Original post: Had lunch with family here on a week day. We ordered all 4 meals at the same time but food came out staggered by 5-10 minutes each. This means that even though he waited for quite a while, uncle nearly finished eating before my meal arrived. This was astonishing as what I ordered was simple and something you usually expect to come out quickly. I had to chase up the waiter to check on the status of my meal and I was not the only customer in the restaurant to do so. I noticed other tables where some people had received their food and others were still waiting.
Uncle had stir-fry flat rice noodles (hu tieu) with XO beef. The beef was very tough and overcooked. Husband's sweet and sour pork arrived next. It's appearance was a surprisingly fluoro orange colour. Flavours were ok though the texture was odd. Aunty did not comment on her Vietnamese beef noodle soup (pho). My broken rice (com tam) with pork chops, egg, etc arrived last. The pork, pork loaf and egg were browned more than what is usually served. I personally enjoyed this level of brown and crispiness though I know some might consider this overcooked/burnt.
However, due to tardiness of food being served, I would not choose...
Read moreMy family and I came here for a late lunch. We ordered the Phat Thuan fried rice and there is only ONE price on the menu for that, which was $19. The waiter asked us whether we wanted the regular or large, we said large. They took the order and said nothing else.
However, they charged us $27 because we ordered the large. We tried to tell them that the menu has only one price and they should charge the correct one. They kept trying to say that they hadn’t updated their physical menus but their internal online menu had the correct price. Of course this is ridiculous because we’re in the restaurant looking at the physical menu, not the online one! They also said the other fried rice options above had 2 columns for regular and large prices. However, that does not change the fact that the rice we ordered only has one price. Otherwise, do you assume all the other prices on the menu are different??? Stupid much?
And, this is not the first time this has happened. They charged the wrong price for taro bubble tea the last time we were there too, also saying they hadn’t updated their menu.
Definitely never coming here again since they can’t get their prices correct! I guess if they’re overcharging people more than the menu regularly, they can afford to have one less family...
Read moreWould not recommend. Waste of money.
Food was below average—especially the shredded pork rice paper roll, which was basically just rolled noodles and lettuce with a side of fish sauce.
Service was worse. We repeated our order multiple times before the staff acknowledged it, yet they still got it wrong. We ordered a side of plain egg noodles for my son, which never came. When we followed up, they insisted it was served in our soup—but there wasn't a single strand of egg noodle in there. Another staff member came over and said the noodles weren’t even listed as part of the order. When we declined a new order (since we were nearly done eating), they still charged us for “extra rice noodles” they claimed we ate. No apology. Just excuses.
Disappointed by both the food and service. Won’t be coming back. Save your money and...
