Lulu Design Store — Local services in Melbourne

I have been to this shop many times after my favourite children's shop on chapel street closed. I have never received any decent customer service here, but continued to shop here out of convenience and the lovely items they stock. My last visit here I spent 150 dollars, upon return home, I realised I had bought the wrong size socks. I could not find my receipt, but thought they may just swap them without bother (it was Christmas Eve and I desperately wanted them for my two year old nephews stocking). I was very wrong. They flat out refused and when I showed them the socks one of the girls snarled at me and stated 'do we even stock those?' The other girl responded 'we do'. Despite being so strict on their return policy, they were then willing to accept the exchange if I provided gift wrapping evidence (I was never offered gift wrapping in the first place). I was really embarrassed and quickly left the store. I returned home and finally found my receipt and returned. They did not have the socks in the size I required. I waited at the counter to be told by another girl that they do not accept returns and I can buy something else and top up the money if needed. She did not offer to show me anything else of the same value (I was not prepared to spend more despite the fact I had originally gone in to buy my nephew a t-shirt that I had previously seen). I left again, more disappointed than before. Very poor, very pretentious service. I have spent well over $1,000 here recently. I am not arguing store policy. It has everything to do with being made to feel sub-human and like something under their shoe. I won't be back. I can only imagine this review (like the other negative review)...

My girlfriend bought me a very nice incense holder a few years ago. I then bought the proper incense for it at $24. When I used it, it never smelled like anything apart from just something burning. I took it back about 6 months later and they said that they smelt it. So, yeah, I tried again this year… 2 years later and found that they were still thinking it was fine. Not going to refund my $24 for incense!! Gave me instructions about how to burn incense. I’m 68yrs old!!! I’ve been burning incense for longer than they have been alive. Good bye to your rip off place! Oh, forgot to mention that they refused my cash to buy Christmas...

horrible customer service. went to exchange a gift and they said no as i didn't have a receipt. i said i am happy to just change for another item and i knew the person had bought from here as it had the wrapping. retail assistant was unhelpful and mean and said sorry we don't return sale items anyway so maybe just re gift it. i was really embarrassed and left the store very unsatisfied with the gift that i wanted to exchange. i had made a big effort to get to the store and not even a credit note was available. very disappointed in this shop and will NOT...
