My local fruit & veg shop! I find that the fruits and vegetables we get here are bigger, tastier, better quality and last longer than the ones I get from the big supermarkets. ALSO - this store has EVERYTHING. It's really close to our flat so I've gone when I need something random quickly ( or occasionally because I was in a dusty, hungover state and couldn't possibly walk any further) and you can find every ingredient you need to make: amatriciana pasta, homemade waffles with bacon, very fresh orange juice for mimosas and ingredients for bloody marys (except the alcohol but Vintage Cellars is across the street, you're welcome), french toast, toasted sandwiches, pumpkin soup, and guacamole. I read all the lovely reviews today and cant believe the experience I've just encountered. I bought 4 glass bottle drinks, apples and plums and I asked the young blonde, tallish, skinny girl behind the till if I could please have a bag to carry the glass bottles. She said quite rudely, no one gives bags and MORE! Then she said ok, if you want one it's going to cost $1. I mentioned other places sell bags for 10 cents, and I said no thanks. Then she arrogantly said 'thanks for your kindness!" I don't mind paying your higher prices and I like to support local small business, but will I go there again to get treated like this?? This has been my go-to for fruits and vegetables for over 10 years now and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The produce is beautiful and the staff are truly lovely. They deliver (even to Yarraville) which has been particularly wonderful during lockdown, and which has led to me doing a nearly complete shop from them, including bread, cheese, milk, eggs and all the rest. The customer service is tops as are all of the things they sell. If you haven't been there, definitely go, but don't get any of the Portuguese Tarts or Raspberry and Pistachio Croissants (because those are all for my...
