Recently purchased a Vietnamese Bahn Mi. Tasted average and seemed to taste of sticky cabbage. It looked like the strips of carrot was mixed with strips of cabbage. The cabbage taste and smell dominated the experience.
The main reason for this review is the staff hygiene. The staff members were wearing blue latex gloves. The woman who made our Bahn Mi accepted my cash payment wearing gloves and then made our meal with same gloves on. Yes she touched the food with the same gloves, including scooping up the chopped pork and putting it into the roll.
We ate the meal in store and noticed the same woman using a cloth to wipe down her benches using whilst wearing the same gloves. And the same gloves were worn to serve others (payment and food prep). Another female staff member also wearing gloves and serving food (including making Bahn Mi rolls) was observed using the long handled dust plan and broom to sweep the "customer area" of the store. Both women served other customers that entered whilst wearing the same gloves.
Is the purpose of the gloves to keep the staff hands clean or warm? Or is it to demonstrate proper food handling hygiene? If the latter, its not happening. Owners/manager, please address this.
Would I dine/purchase again at this shop? Potentially yes for the Bahn Mi, but definitely not for the poor food handling hygiene practices. This practice is common in many food stores and not only is it disgusting, it prevents me...

You can really tell that everything is made with care and attention to Vietnamese...
