Five Star Coffee & Nuts — Local services in Sydney

Went here yesterday to get roasted nuts. two stars only for their freshness. I only found out the price is cheaper if you buy the nuts mixed and not separately from the lady serving. I've been here twice before to get roasted nuts and no-one ever informed me of this so i always got the nuts separately at a substantially more expensive price. it's pretty much why i only come here to get them during christmas. now that i know that i could've gotten them mixed at a cheaper price the previous times i have bought roasted nuts here, it rubs me up the wrong way.

the prices should be displayed on the glass front or somewhere visible and they're nowhere to be seen. i shouldn't have to rely on the discretion of a staff member to tell me mixed nuts is cheaper than getting them separately. i spotted one sign on there for mixed nuts but that is for the one that is already pre-mixed and has other nuts that i don't want, like coated peanuts, etc. Why is it up to the workers there to inform me? i was just lucky this time that she told me. there is no displayed pricing.

also, when i lined up to pay, i was served by "Radwan" according to the receipt, and i'm pretty sure he short-changed me by one dollar. you might say that is not a lot, but it's the principle of the matter. they certainly wouldn't be giving me a one dollar discount, in the reverse situation. he didn't even hand me my receipt as he was already walking off. i had to pull the receipt off the machine by myself. maybe he didn't want me to see the receipt so i wouldn't be able to see that he ripped me off.

i probably won't be back and if i could find another place that actually has DISPLAYED PRICING and fresh roasted nuts i would go there instead.

I've been shopping at 5 * for the last 5 years. I noticed a few years ago by chance that they overcharge me, giving the excuse there are 2 prices one for specials from outside and another from inside. Although they are distinguished by the green & white plastic bags. About 2 weeks ago I bought PUCK cream which was on special 3 for $2, so I bought 6 which should add up to $4, instead I was charged $5 extra as SPECIAL. I noticed the special was an add not minus I returned to the counter where I paid but the staff where not there I asked the staff on next casher if he can correct it for me, he said there is no mistake and to prove it he brought another can and scanned it three times to show me how the total calculated. He then saw that the specials is adding dollars instead of subtracting he did nothing and moved to another registrar. I stood there for few minutes thinking someone will rectify this error but nothing happened . I then asked a third stuff member to help by adding the total to see the mistake. He told me to add it myself its my duty to do so. Although I told him I already did he did not care.by this time the fist staff returned to her registrar, I showed her my calculation on my phone but she erased it and she wanted to recalculate all over again. This drove me mad and I lost my temper and raised my voice with my complain. The Abo Ra'ed thankfully sorted the error and returned the $5 overcharged. What a waist of time this was and unnecessary stress this caused me shopping at five stars. I wounder how their service would be if they where 4* or 3*. I think they should change their name to be more honest...

I’m giving 5 Stars a 5 Star for their great selection of Produce, Dairy, Bakery and Pantry supplies which is used in every middle eastern, European and even Malaysian households. Their prices very affordable, especially for big families when you need to buy quantity more then quality but here you actually get Good quality. The aisles are wide, making it really accessible for people in wheelchairs like myself. The produce outside is also the same as inside, but they have a selection of specials which are still good to eat. They roast their own nuts which fills the whole supermarket with a delicious nutty aroma and you can’t help the temptation of nibbling on hot roasted nuts as you shop!
