Honestly this is one of my most favorite places on the planet! So affordable and for one of the best authentic and delicious Lebanese food joints in Sydney!
The staff and owners are friendly, family operated business that’s become legendary in not only Canterbury-Bankstown area but beyond Sydney-Jasmine attracts regular customers from the Blue Mountains just for their food!! The restaurant vibe and ambience is pretty simple and very casual, quite humble with a big sink near the fridge for the customers to wash their hands before eating. When you sit you are greeted with menus, a jug of iced filtered water and steel cups. There is salt/pepper and olive oil on the table. You place your order and within 15-20mins or so you get a whole basket of fresh Lebanese bread and your order. From moist Chicken Schwarma to Mixed plates boasting hummus, babaganoush, tahini, foule, grilled lamb, kafta (Lebanese spiced mince), kibi (a kind of meatball stuffed with pine nuts and herbs and more mince), Homemade garlic sauce, kebab, Fateh, fatoush, tabouleh etc all cooked fresh and fast. We have ordered every single dish on the menu and ALL of them are fantastic!! This place has been in operation for so many years and became so popular that the Jasmines name and brand kind of got franchises out throughout Western Sydney.
But nothing beats the original at Lakemba, and so welcoming to a diverse range of people, friendly, laid back and excellent food for great prices - the undeniable Lebanese hospitality makes your dining experience all the more pleasant....

i ordered a mix plate as well as other items and they did not include a container of tabouli. i called up and they said they had run out of parsley.
that's almost like a chicken shop that has run out of chickens to sell.
parsley is a key ingredient to lebanese food and tabouli.
they ended up giving me a container of fattoush salad to compensate but still...a lebanese restaurant which has run out of tabouli? unheard of.
i have ordered from here multiple times in the past with mostly good experiences, however the standards appear to have gone down of late and maybe this is because they have changed hands. the only redeeming item of food was the falafel and that's about it. the dips of hummous and baba ganoush are usually nice but for the first time it was super acidic like they had dumped a load of lemon in there - too much - it was almost inedible. baba ganoush definitely is supposed to have more of a distinct smokey eggplant taste and not an overwhelming acidic taste. do they drown the dips in lemon as a preservative? that means it's not made fresh daily. they shouldn't think people don't notice.
also, why are they and other lebanese restaurants stingy with the rounds of lebanese bread they give you? we need more! two lebanese breads...
