More Than Curtains — Local services in Sydney

I am truly disappointed with the way Lucia handled the tail end of our business. Yes they are friendly but at the end of the day its a small family run business lacking proper professionalism you would get at the bigger places and when you are spending thousands of dollars you expect a level of service.

My experience; I placed an order of $6000+ for shutters and curtains. The curtains came in folded and wrapped just as More Than Curtains would have received it in the post by their supplier- I was surprised as I thought they would have been opened maybe ironed and inspected, they were not they were very wrinkly and I was told they would drop and fix over time. My shutters were delayed by a week and installed correctly however there are some markings I try to overlook.

The Problem; Once everything was installed I made the mistake of asking them for custom made cushions and a table runner. I paid for the cushions upfront and was told it won't take long, maybe 2 weeks. After this, I hardly hear from them, I had to always follow up and keep leaving messages and a month later after leaving another voicemail I get an message saying fabric is delayed, sent to wrong address, could not be picked up, we are working today (Friday).I expressed my concern that it is taking long and basically I was told to cancel the job and take your money back. very rude and unprofessional, of course they had already taken $6250 from me so the small amount of cushions was not important and neither was they loyalty and customer service. I was recommended Lucia at More Than Curtains by a well known Interior Designer. I made the assumption as they were recommended by him I would pay a premium.

This was far from true, from a price point they were very competitive. However, the biggest difference was the quality of their curtains and blinds, far superior. In addition, the options they offerd were many and varied. When I meet them, I was in the final stages of a new home construction. All they had to go on was wall colour and a few photos.

I was heavily reliant on their professional opinion as I had never gone custom. They knew exactly what options to show me and decisions were therefore quick and easy. I am so glad I consulted them!!

I now have beautiful dual Holland Blinds which keep the rooms dark in the morning and reduce the heat of the sun during the day, yet still allow me to keep an eye on the kid's from indoors. The curtains in the Master and Rumpus are wall to wall and floor to ceiling, I have had numerous comments on how glamorous they look!

We took two years to build our new house in North Rocks, and decorating our house has not been an easy task ! However this was certainly not the issue when it came to deciding on our soft furnishings/ curtains and which company to use.

We were lucky enough to have a great friend who recommended Elise and Lucia from MORE THAN CURTAINS and this came after the vetting of nearly 14 different curtain companies in Sydney !.

Let me me tell you don’t shop elsewhere , there’s really no point .! .. these lovely ladies are 100% experts in their field, they know the fabrics, are a great team , professional , on time and their finished curtains are like no other. I have no hesitation at all in recommending MORE THAN CURTAINS to anyone who is looking for beautiful high quality fabrics , workmanship and the strongest of customer service & attention to detail.
