Always a great place to visit & spend some time walking around the huge range of goods onsale, the biggest market on the N/W coast & every Sunday too. Other outdoor markets like Wynyard are great & only every second Sunday, but we'll worth seeing as there's a different variety of goods on offer compared to penguin market. But both are worth a visit for sure, lots of beautiful jewellery & gemstones at penguin & the shop with all the wizards is really incredible to walk through, we got some hand knitted beanies last time. Had to ask a couple others who had kids ones where to find adults & two stall holders showed us where to go to get them. She had tons of them in baskets. The merino wool 3 pair of sox & the natural soaps are great value too. Always lots of bargains to be had.

I can’t even begin to say how much I love this market! Debbie’s knitted doll shop is an absolute gem—one of the best things about this town and this market. She’s a legend! Her knitted dolls are beyond adorable, like something straight out of Jean Greenhowe’s collection. I’ve never seen such spot-on recreations before! I feel so lucky to have found this place and to have gotten this festive clown, I’m going to treasure it forever. Honestly, I wish I could take them all home. Every doll Debbie makes feels like a little treasure to me, but since I live so far away, I just can’t bring them all with me. Debbie is truly one of a kind—a real legend! If I ever get the chance, I’m definitely coming back!

Very nice market with a lot of second hand goodies (clothes, furnitures, antiques) but also some new stuff and art crafts. It’s quite big, undercover and fun to walk and wander around while finding some pre-loved treasures. We spent like 2 hours there! There are some food options (fish and chips, Lebanese and Thai) and also coffee (cash only for the second one at least). Live music in the outdoor area.

Very disappointed one week out from Christmas not many people there tells a story. Used to be a fantastic market haven't been there for over 3 years went today only to find very little local art or craft and has become more of a second hand market I wouldn't really see why a tourist to the state worry about this one anymore did not find it vibrant or appealing. Plenty of art and craft talent on the coast and produce don't understand why it's not been showcased here. Well done to the few that had their work on show but not enough.Might try again in a couple of years. Only managed to spend a grand...
