I had researched this store before my trip from Canada and could not wait to have my first experience with Belgian chocolates. It is safe to say that Yuzu in Ghent (with honorable mention to Chocolates and Happiness in Bruges) have completely changed the way I look at this dessert. The absence of preservatives makes itself known through the textures and flavors in Belgian chocolate making. Usually, the presence of these chemicals can make North American chocolate taste like vomit in comparison.
I must say that these pralines and assorted items were FUN to eat. I could savor 5 pieces and not feel guilty because these foods are actually enjoyable. I ordered a twenty piece box to take back home and it survived a week in my carry on bag with no issues!
