Traiteur Peper en Zout — Local services in Ghent

I would have given 3 stars for the food, since it's okay. But I give it 2 stars for 2 main reasons:

1- The food is very overpriced compared to the taste and overall quality. The food tastes good but it's very overpriced.

2- The lady, who I suppose is the owner, seemed to me very unwelcoming and unfriendly. You can feel that the employees are also uncomfortable.

Anyway, it seems like a popular place in Gent, but it's not my cup of tea. I've experienced better service and better food, for a better price.

I walked over for the first time for a sandwich and I literally got the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. Very good bread, good quality cheese, etc. Very happily surprised. Also took a crumble and that was very good as well. I can imagine the rest of the food may be also as good!

Ik kom al jaren bij jullie en nu werd het tijd om jullie eens in de bloemen te zetten. Het assortiment is altijd vers (op is op), gevarieerd (volgens het seizoen) en heerlijk. Alles kan in kleine hoeveelheden aangekocht worden. Als alleenstaande word ik met dezelfde vriendelijkheid behandeld als een andere klant die voor 100 euro of meer koopt. Een begroeting, een dankjewel en geen "nog iets, mevrouw?". Jullie werken hard, breiden uit, maar niet ten koste van de kwaliteit en het respect voor jullie...
