I have been a member of Modo yoga for a very long time . Please take ur time reading this and I added pics too.
Feb: I put my membership on hold March I extended my membership hold due to covid March/April Paras (owner) created online classes April 1 2020 1:39 pm : I requested a complete membership cancellation via email to modo . I sent an email stating "cancellation and not interested in online classes. April 1 2020 : after sending the email I distinctly remember calling Jenny at modo asking her to send me a confirmation.
April 1 2020 3:13 pm : received an email from Jenny to my cancellation. This is where the issue arises. 8 months later (today) I can't find that email ... there is a thread of emails ... but that confirmation "the body" of the message is loading or not showing up. But In the thread it does say from Jenny at 3:13 pm
April 1 2020 3:30 pm : I replied back saying "thank you "
Month later ... Check to see if my modo membership payment went from the credit card ... and it hadn't . So I was carefree as everything went smoothly. No hassle cancellation . Never bothered to go through my statements again (stupid me ) !
Dec 9th 2020: received an email saying my auto payment is not going through ! (Credit card expired) Dec 9th 2020: checked my credit card statement ... to my surprise I have been charged !!!! They without authorization, charged my credit card starting September ! Dec 10th 2020: finally someone returns my call. It was the owner Paras. She politely honored that a mistake happened . But because she is a small business owner she can't repay me back due to covid. I explained I understand , but a lot of people are going through this and people have also lost their jobs and they can't afford a lot of things. She said all she can do for me "is give me a credit on my membership , and when I decide to join again she won't charge me for three months " I explained I wasn't interested anymore to come, and if I do it will be much later . I prefer my money back. I was shocked that she kept saying she can't afford to pay me back . We are talking about approximately $250 . I said "omg paras " and she had that audacity to mock me back and say "omg like by saying omg it won't get you your money back " ....she proceeded saying "she is trying to give me a gift card that I can use later " ... I said I don't want a gift card, cause no one knows if you guys are going to be around or if I will ever come back . After heated conversation and he yelling about how she is a small business owner ... I hang up on her !
I have no idea what to do now ... but I hate them. I have also reported them to bb2 and all I know during this pendamic , they STOLE money from me ! Yoga is suppose to be about energies and healings and authenticity .... well Paras stole money from me ! And there is nothing I can do !...
Read moreI've been going to Moksha Yoga Brampton on and off since its inception. I have to be honest. I LOVE this place. It isn't the only studio I practice at and I have always kept them in rotation for that reason! I will try to break down the different aspects so that you can have a clear picture :)
Location/Parking - outside of the mall above Starbucks which I think is perf since you don't have to walk through the mall after your sweat session :) There is ample parking but you might not end up with a spot directly in front of the building doors.
Classes/Instructor - I love how many types of classes are offered. This gives everyone, from the beginner to the expert, a variety of classes to choose from, all offered on different days and times. I have been to several instructors classes, and while they each have their own style, they have one common thread.... they all rock, like seriously rock! (tip: you can book your classes and memberships (payments) all through the Mindy Body Connect app)
Studio - there is one main studio with rich coloured hardwood floors (I'm a sucker for these) There are multiple heating panels hanging from the ceiling, complimentary blocks for your use during your stay, and a mirrored wall along the 'front' of the room.
Changeroom - there is a male and female changeroom. I will speak to the female changeroom. It is clean. Complimentary hair ties, cotton swabs, hair dryers and feminine products
Read moreSigned up for the 30days for 40 online. I was interested because they had so many different class times which was attractive. Went to my first class not a great impression. It was kinda dark. Nice lounge area to wait for class in. Nice complementary tea. Facilities are kinda grungy. Broken bathroom stall, water filtration doesn't work. Watered down soap in 1 dispenser for 2 sinks. 2 communal hand towels that were crusty for drying hands I thought was odd and unsanitary. I was directed to a water cooler that I couldn't figure out how to work when I mentioned the water filter wasn't dispensing. Not great in the customer service area. I was just told to sign a waiver I had to ask for my key tag to scan in and just figure out the rest. The class that I went to the Instructor was nice and helpful I liked her but the class was quite hard. I would have chosen a softer flow had the class descriptions on the website been more clear. The room was very hot. I think warmer than I was used to at my last studio. But it smelled very nice even though 25 people had been sweating in it minutes before we entered. Over all I don't think I'll go back I didn't like the vibe. Healthletica in Bolton has more of a clean...
