Where do I begin about this near empty restaurant. But I can see why it's fairly empty. Been going here since 2014'. 🤣 Pineapple drink missing the dried pineapple and ice (then sent me 1/2 of one, when every other restaurant gives a full piece. How odd, when I paid for it. Sent a ridiculous mint leaf which destroyed the flavour of the drink). My calamari appetizer with one sauce I never ordered (asked for 2x thai and no garlic) sent 1x thai and 1 garlic anyways. The worst was the 10oz leather steak clearly medium well, instead of medium rare. This very disappointing experience in a near empty restaurant with a manager whose entire body language screamed aggressive and arrogant was the final straw (hands on hips and all, like she was addressing a toddler). Why bother engaging in an experience so below par? I could safely say McDonald's could outshine... waste of my time. I would not trust you to prepare a glass of water today. Clearly, the F- crew was on today and the main crew was saved for dinner service, which is understandable... but there should be a reasonable level of competence. Only saving grace was the serving staff, she was simply lovely and doing her best during this meal. The oncoming p.m. manager (Danny) we got to chat with for a few moments, he was simply charming and seems very customer oriented. Would rather dine in when he is on staff as good leadership supports staff. Miss hands on her hips, curt and short questions in an unfriendly and rude manner most certainly is a no. If she is like that with customers... I can only imagine the horrors staff endure under her reign of terror. Really missed the mark today and it was made far worse by poor leadership. I had planned to just drink mimosas for the duration while my fiancé finished his meal, but even that tasted off (and on par with the consistent issues, was charged $8.50 instead of the $5 Sunday price... which I never brought up and paid, as I was fully over it and didn't want to add to my servers stress). I am not sure what happened today. I hope this was the last of 2023' and farewell to bad things, but I can safely say no restaurant experience in all my life has ever been this horrible. Lol Cheers to better things and...
Read moreI booked a reservation to host my wife for Mother’s Day brunch at this location. The decision was made after taking a look at the BRUNCH menu that had been advertised online. It was shared with my wife, among other brunch menus from other places, and she decided on Moxie’s… because she lied what she saw on their BRUNCH menu.
So imagine my disappointment when we arrive at Moxie’s, get seated, and then get handed a “Mother’s Day” menu, but no brunch items.
I asked the waitress if she gave us the wrong menu because we were hoping to order the brunch items and we were told that the “brunch menu wasn’t at this location”
Now my head is spinning because I’m wondering how I managed to miss this key tidbit of information. I’m also upset because my wife had food expectations and now we’re ordering items off a dinner menu at 11am. And it’s too late to try to change your mind on Mother’s Day.
I inquired a bit more after paying the bill and the waitress explained that it came as a surprise to the staff as well when they opened up and that they were supposed to have the ingredients for the brunch menu delivered but they weren’t. Sounds like the most unrealistic explanation that I’ve ever heard.
Coincidentally, we all noticed how empty it was at that location, which is really odd for a Mother’s Day morning where restaurants are usually packed with lineups going out the door. This is what initially had me wondering if I missed the memo about this location not having brunch.
Anyway, I’m extremely disappointed and will be second guessing any future...
Read moreMoxie's restaurant left me utterly unimpressed and thoroughly disappointed. From the moment I stepped through the door, it was evident that mediocrity reigned supreme. The ambiance, attempting to exude sophistication, fell flat with its generic decor and lackluster atmosphere.
The service was as uninspiring as the menu itself. Inattentive servers wandered aimlessly, seemingly more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to patrons. When they did manage to grace our table, their demeanor was as cold as the food they served.
Speaking of which, the food was a dismal affair. Each dish seemed to suffer from an identity crisis, lacking any discernible flavor or creativity. It was as if the chef had given up halfway through the cooking process, leaving us with overpriced plates of culinary confusion. To add insult to injury, the food was excessively salty, assaulting our taste buds with each bite.
As if the disappointing dining experience wasn't enough, the management's decision to turn off the patio heaters without warning left us shivering in discomfort. It was a blatant disregard for the comfort of their guests, further highlighting their indifference towards customer satisfaction.
But the real insult came with the bill. For the exorbitant prices charged, one would expect a dining experience worth remembering. Instead, we were left feeling robbed, both of our money and our time.
In conclusion, Moxie's restaurant is a prime example of style over substance. Save yourself the disappointment and...
