For 2 years,. I have been buying blade roasts based on the recommendation of the J&G butchers. The whole intact roasts have been well marbled, long, narrow, single pieces of meat and they were delicious. Again, on March 6th, I asked for a “blade roast”, but received an oddly short round package that I did not question. I should have asked to see the meat before it was wrapped ... my bad! I received 6.5 lbs of two flaps of fatty, grizzly meat for $105.05. They were tied together to create the image of a roast, but they were basically scrap meat. The photos do not show $105 worth of meat. If the butcher was concerned about the appearance of the $105 worth of meat, they should have shown it to me so that I could refuse it. I would have refused it. I was cooking for guests, so I couldn’t afford a long drive back to J&G. My guests and I will choke this down – accent on the choking. I will be in your store to have this conversation with you in person. No need...
Read moreSo glad to be a customer of J & G meats, they truly go above and beyond. I have been able to talk with Peter and customize my orders to exactly what I need for 2 parties that I have thrown. The steaks were amazing and clearly not previously frozen as an earlier comment stated, obviously someone that has never had a good quality steak, or may not be happy simply because of there being new ownership, it's sometimes hard for people except change. On both visits for my parties I ordered the steaks and freshly cut chickens that were then marinated with marinades of my choosing then packaged and sealed to be used the next afternoon, Peter was quite informative and gave easy to follow directions on the best way cook and serve. Everyone loved the food. Absolutely no complaints here. It's not hard to see why he has won the Best...
Read moreOn Friday June 14th I attended J&G to pick up three strip loin steaks for Fathers Day. On Father's Day we BBQ'd and were so looking forward to enjoying a bottle of red with our steaks. It turns out the steaks were tougher than Yellowstone britches. Lots of gristle. We were all in agreement. Long story short a week later I returned to buy lean ground beef. The store was crowded. As I waited I thought "What the heck bring it up". The gentleman I spoke with immediately instructed his staff to retrieve three new strip loin steaks on the house. He apologized and thanked me for sharing this info. A week ago we thoroughly enjoyed the cuts and a new bottle of red....
