Classic !! This is her first time here and it is Big scientists restaurant with a good variety on the menu. The decor is a little bit old and outdated but it's definitely a comfortable place to come in and enjoy a meal with your family and friends. This restaurant was recommended by two separate people that I was talking to earlier today. They're very generous with their portion sizes and they offer lots of refills on your coffee if you enjoy having a cup of coffee with your meal. They also have a children's menu Under 12 were most items are under 8:50. It was much appreciated that they leave the jam and peanut butter selections on the tables. For desserts they offer things like cheesecake cream pie fruit pie pecan pie and your typical Jell-O pudding and ice cream and Sundays. They do have a small bar menu offering domestic and imported beers whiskey cocktails like yours and red and white wine Not too many Dinars these days offer liver and onions but this place did and it was very well done. They also have several different types of eggs benedict. The service was also very friendly and professional so thank you to the front and back staff for a job well done

Russell Williams – A Time Machine to the Golden Age of Diners Stepping into Russell Williams is like diving headfirst into a time warp—no pretension, no gimmicks, just pure, unfiltered diner culture dating back to the ‘30s. The kind of place where the coffee is hot, the portions are generous, and the walls could tell a thousand stories if they felt so inclined. I came for the corned beef sandwich and fries—no nonsense, no frills, just a rock-solid execution of a classic. The kind of meal that reminds you why diners exist in the first place. Perfectly stacked, seasoned right, and exactly what I needed. Then came the pancakes, an order so massive it might’ve been cooked on the hood of a ‘57 Chevy. Fluffy, golden, drenched in syrup, and paired with a side of bacon that could bring a tear to a grown man’s eye. This is comfort food in its purest form—no unnecessary innovation, just the hits played loud and proud. Russell Williams doesn’t try to be anything it’s not. It delivers exactly what you came for and nothing more, and in a world of overpriced fusion experiments and Instagram gimmicks, that’s a damn beautiful thing. Highly recommend. Gary DB

Came for brunch with my mom and we had a great time! So nostalgic as we used to come here on Sundays when I was little with my grandparents and get the whole family together. Remember me and my little cousins going to the bathroom and then getting yelled at cuz we were being too loud by our moms. Sat and reminisce when we were younger, made for some great convos, and great food. I got the Belgium waffle with mixed berries compote. I didn’t care much for the blueberries but the strawberries were amazing. I also got a side of sausage and coffee. My mom got the bacon breakfast classic which includes home fries toast and jam with 2 eggs. The home fries are amazing too. Overall had a great time just didn’t care much for our server, and at the end of our meal she just came and put the bill on our table when we hadn’t asked for it yet or ask if we wanted anything else.

Wow. If the service wasnt so bad this morning, I would have given this breakfast experience 3/5 stars.

Here is the breakdown:

Menu: Some items are moderately priced, others just ridiculous. There should be more to choose from on the breakfast menu. $10 for an order of pancakes, waffles or french toast. And $3 per fruit topping? It would be nice to have a "Fruit topped waffle" option... but without one it all adds up! Omlettes are yummy but again, a bit pricey. Sausage was ok but my homefries really weren't all that great. Other breakfast places have more options with bigger portions and better food basically the same prices.

Setting: Lovely diner. Old school layout with a decent amount of seats. There was a line out the door after I sat down to eat, then again you have to line up to pay in the same spot you wait to be seated. It's a small place so call ahead if you can reserve for large groups.

Service: I dont think I have ever felt so rushed to get out of a diner. Working as a waitress myself.. I know how important it is to ensure customers are content. So when I politely declined coffee.. I was surprised to have my waitress 'Martha B' ask "Well do you want anything?" I assumed in reference to a drink since I had been at my table no more than 30seconds. I ordered a cold beverage and browsed the menu. She took my order fairly quick and the food arrived within 10mins. Martha passed my table several times while eating but not once was I asked how my meal was. Other waitresses around me were waaay more attentive to their customers!

When I did flag her down, I said "I havent been here in a while, do I receive the bill here at my table and-" when she stated "Yes ill bring your bill so you can go" ...... pardon me? Did I hear you correctly? I was asking how the payment setup worked... but before I could even respond she had already dashed to the back to print my bill. When she returned less than a minute later, a very enthusiastic "Here you go hunny have a great day!" and poof! She was gone. I figured out where to pay based on seeing someone doing so at the front.

I left a $2 tip for my $11 bill out of pitty for being a waitress. I know how hard it is making tips but wow.. atleast put in some effort. * It almost seemed like because I am a young adult, there was an assumption of no tip. So I received a lack in service. Harsh but jeez that's how I was made to feel. Just because I didnt order a coffee... doesnt mean you dont have reason to check on my table.

I will not be returning to...

Came here because it has amazing reviews. We were incredibly unimpressed. My wife was pregnant in her 3rd trimester, so please exacerbate the following review accordingly.

First off, this restaurant is quite narrow and results in an overcrowded feel. During rush hours, there's a heat that intensifies the deeper you go into the restaurant: we were in one of the tables closest to the kitchen, so we were quite uncomfortable.

Next, our food took ridiculously long. We waited almost an hour from when we were seated to when wd ate. We were late to an appointment we had. Our server took 15mins to get to us (just to even get water!) and her attitude was dry and unapologetic for the wait. The rest of the wait was to get the food. She was very much unavailable as we saw her going in and out of the kitchen. We saw many groups of people come in much later than us and get their food first as we were waiting for ours. It finally arrived, and COLD. Server took it back, another wait. Again, unapologetic and when we asked what was taking so long, we got "Sorry, we're really busy", almost annoyed that we were annoyed.

Then, the food was awkward. The feta cheese in my omelette was overpowering, almost double the amount I had ever had in an omelette. I took out half of it and still had the flavour and texture. My wife's potatoes were incredibly garlicky. I understand that you want to be unique with your recipe, but some tastes are acquired and not everybody enjoys such a strong combination of garlic and onion.

The saving grace was the pancakes. Excellent. I would maybe go back for the pancakes. But Denny's pancakes are better :)

Management, please invest money to remodel or at least expand this heritage site. Invest in more staff so servers are not working in the kitchen and leaving your customers out to dry. We complained at the cash on our way out and was told Management would...

My husband and I have long wanted to come for dinner so Sunday evening we finally made it. My husband ordered the prime rib and I ordered the grilled parmasean chicken with side vegetables rather than potatoes or rice. When the orders arrived, the prime rib was huge and almost overflowing the plate. My order was miniscule. Not sure what part of a chicken breast was used, possibly a filet; about 1/4" thick about 3-3 1/2" in size. It was tough, covered with some sort of runny white cheese and some sort of sweet tomato/onion brown sugar tasting sauce. The side of veggies was 2 T of corn and a pile of mushy carrots and broccoli (disgusting). The prime rib had absolutely no flavour whatsoever and came with huge pieces of fat attached (should have been removed before serving). His vegetables were the same. The rice pudding had no taste whatsoever. The only good thing about it was the salad bar of which I went back for a second helping and my glass of beer. We both left the serving of veggies. There were many patrons so we didn't return the dinners, which we should have but didn't want to make a scene. When asked at the cash how we liked out dinner I told the very young girl that we weren't impressed. She ignored my comment, took my $60 and said have a nice day! I have to admit the special portions were large but didn't look appealing (potatoes looked from a box and 2 huge portions (covering 1/4 of the plate), and everything was covered in a very light coloured gravy - hoping it was turkey but it didn't look like it. My dinner was $16.95 and there wasn't $5.00 worth of food on the plate!

This is not a place we would ever return to...
