MoMo Sushi Burlington — Local services in Burlington

Decided to try this place with my friend because we were having some SERIOUS sushi cravings and we do not regret the 20 minute car ride there! We had called in our order and it was obvious that it was our first time ordering from Momo sushi. The worker made sure we had the address of the place and I was very pleased.

When we got there, the place was smaller than I expected! It had a very mom and pop vibe and we were immediately greeted by someone who seemed like the owner. When I heard the total for my order, I was shocked at how cheap it was compared to other sushi establishments I have been to. AND they didn't even ask for tip on their card machine (which actually made me want to tip)!! After I paid, because they knew it was our first time, they even gave us a free hand roll to try!

After getting home, my friend and I opened our take out boxes and was surprised, yet again, by the high quality and the amount we received for the price we paid. My roll was STUFFED with salmon and had just the right amount of rice and my friend had double the amount of sushi than what she would get for the same price at other places.

Horrible service. The menu does not have all the info. Interaction with them was a terrible experience that ruined our night. 2 guys, one does not speak English. The other is zero customer service oriented. We walked in, asked some questions about the menu, he responded 3 calls, interrupting us 3 times during 5 min. He told the customers on the phone it will be 45min. We asked if it will be faster for us. He said yes. We mentioned we had 3 hungry kids waiting and nothing spicy please. We ordered 5 items. He said 30 min. “Can we please do 20?”. “Ok, just 3 dinner items”. We paid for it. Asked to confirm the time to come back and he still said 30 min!!!! “We thought it can be faster with only 3 items”. He looked so angry we just walked away. Not to mention, when we were making an order he threw the sushi he was making in the garbage. There is definitely a temper issue there and we suggest to stay away. He should not be in the customer service business. Zero communication, zero service. We asked for nothing spicy and one roll had spicy mayo. We imagine he had a bad day but with good reviews we read before going it was crazy to see this...

This was my first time ordering here. To start it was so nice of them to give us a free handroll and I had to stop myself from doing a review before even eating my actual meal. The handroll was so good. The rice is nicely seasoned but did not over power the whole thing. I find some sushi places over do the rice vinegar and it takes over the taste and here it did not. The nori was crisp and not limp like other sushi places. Then the spicy mayo... I normally hate the stuff because it is top mayo flavoured and no spice but here it was really good and the perfect amount.

Anyways on to my actual meal. I had the chirashi (I think that is how you spell it) dinner. The fish was good, melt in your mouth. No funky smell like I had at a particular place here in burlington. The fish was also nicely picked. Nice array of raddish, cucumbers and tobiko to finish it off. The wakame salad was good too.

Overall, I did loved it and will definitley come back.
