I was told on the phone that there were plenty $4.99 watermelons left, so when I arrived at Sobeys an hour later there were none left! I asked a kid in the back if there were more & he said no. I was not a happy customer! I jokingly asked another employee passing by if I could get the huge $12.99 watermelon for $4.99 instead & without any hesitation while picking up a big heavy one, he said, 'Absolutely', put a $4.99 sticker on it & said if I have any trouble at checkout then just say Eric said it was OK. Eric is the Assistant Manager & he even came to the check out to tell the cashier that the watermelon I was buying was marked $4.99. Who does that these days?? NOW, that's what customer service really means & I greatly appreciated the way in which he handled this! Good service is lacking in so many businesses, so it was great that someone proved that it can still be done in a professional & courteous manner!! I can only give Eric 5 stars & a good review, but I'd rather he get a raise or a General Manager position! Thank you again Eric, for your wonderful...
Read moreSobeys kitchen and all the staff there are the best with amazing customer service skills. I just made an order for sandwich platters, fruit kabobs, pizzas and wraps for my son’s party. Everything was amazing, the gourmet sandwiches and wrap platters looked so good, tasted great and were arranged in a very presentable and super clean way. Portions were very generous and there was more than enough for everyone. The fruit kebabs were a hit and watermelon slices also were so fresh and sweet. I made the order 24 hours before the event and I made some changes later and the staff were all very helpful and accommodated all my changes. They were all very nice and everything was ready on time. Special thanks to Declan and Barb and the sweet lady who works in the produce section. Thanks for helping me throw a...
Read moreI’ve been to the Sobeys on Brant Street in Burlington, and it’s a comfortable, clean grocery store that feels a bit more “organized” than some discount chains. Parking is easy right in front of the store, and getting in and out is simple. Inside, the aisles are neat and well labelled, and the produce section always looks fresh and well arranged. The bakery and deli areas are also nice to browse if you want quick ready-to-eat items. Prices aren’t usually the lowest overall, but the quality — especially produce and meat — feels reliable. Checkout is usually smooth, and staff have been friendly when I’ve asked for help finding items. It’s a solid choice for regular groceries when you value freshness and a pleasant...
