Stepping into Saigon Deli feels like you've been transported directly to a bustling street corner in Vietnam, and that's exactly what I look for in a Banh Mi spot. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of fresh bread and savory fillings hits you, promising an authentic experience that few places deliver. But what truly sets Saigon Deli apart, for me, is the undeniable heart and soul of the place. You know you're in for a treat when you see that charming little shrine tucked away in the corner, offering a touch of traditional Vietnamese culture that many modern eateries sadly lack. It’s those small, genuine details that tell you this isn't just another sandwich shop; it's a place where care and tradition are honored. The Banh Mi itself? Absolutely sublime. Each bite is a perfect symphony of crispy baguette, tender meats (their cold cut is a personal favorite!), fresh herbs, and just the right amount of pickled daikon and carrot. You can tell everything is prepared with passion and skill. If you're searching for an authentic, delicious, and heartwarming Banh Mi experience, look no further than Saigon Deli. It’s the kind of place that captures the true spirit of Vietnamese cuisine, from its incredible food to its wonderfully genuine atmosphere. Five stars...

I grew up eating the lemongrass beef/chicken banh mi’s thinking they were the most amazing subs I’ve ever had. Then I was introduced to the more authentic cold cut (dac biet) subs and it was life-changing. I have had a few cold cut subs around the city and decided to make the drive to Saigon Deli to give them a try. I got the Number 1 sub and I’m addicted. No other subs will compare to the subs at Saigon Deli. Their bread is perfectly chewy, light and crisp - crumbs get everywhere so prepare to make a mess. They put the perfect amount of toppings - tons of meat (not too salty), lots of veggies, pate and mayo. The balance is perfect. The Vietnamese aunties making the subs are super efficient and friendly. Don’t be discouraged by the long line, they get orders out quickly but maintain the quality. If you’re taking them to go to eat at home, I’d recommend getting the veggies separately and putting them in the subs right before you eat them. And lastly they have such good prices, on par with what you’d expect.
Saigon Deli is lovely hidden gem that makes the most delicious subs. If you want something similar to what you’d get on the street in Vietnam, I’d come here. Highly...
Read moreMy friends and I found this hole in the wall a while back, and we've been going here ever since. I am completely addicted to their Beef Satay subs and would highly recommend them to anyone.
There is a review here that I would like to call out, however by Sanaa. They had mentioned that their sub had pork in it and therefore thinks it's disgusting. I agree that what a customer ordered should not be contaminated with other ingredients that that person may have allergies to or perhaps religious inclination to not consume that food and this is their right.
However this reviewer went on to say that "The ladies here are also RUDE and are always speaking in their language, making you feel super uncomfortable." Ya I think this is just plain childish, as we live in a multicultural society. There is bound to be those that speak different languages, and if they choose to not speak a language you understand, you have no right to deem them rude because of it.
Rate a location for their food and SERVICE, don't be racist and throw in a...
