Warning to people who want to pay fair prices for TCG products.
This shop was supposedly hosting an official Gundam event where the rules are : you sign up using the official Bandai app, pay on arrival (20$ as listed in the event by the shop owner), receive a random Starter Box from the owner, open the box in store and play a friendly competition with other enthusiasts. Promotional cards are given by the host to all players and any prizes for winners are at the shop owner's discretion.
My friend and I have attended several of these around the Longueuil area and all were as described and well organized. We drove 50km to attend A-Z Games' Gundam Starter event to be told we had to bring our own decks and when we said that they were supposed to provide them he was charging 40$ for a 20$ product plus 10$ to attend his "event" so we could claim our promo cards. Even when most retail stores or online stores are out of stock they manage to have all the the hot booster boxes, promo boxes, pin boxes, blister packs etc. They also have some cool collectable toys and whatnot , so not catering to card collectors alone. The only downside is like with all hot items. They are harder to come by and their prices reflect that. Their prices are usually above market value and you paxes taxes on top of that. So unless you pull some decent cards, you may not feel that great about your purchase. I.E A Elite trainer box will be marked up 100% actual retail price/market...
