Mall is very nice however Canadian Tire is the least helpful place if your from out of province and need help! I can add I lived 60 of my 77 yrs in Mission. Rude and disrespectful staff is not what I needed when the Check Engine light came on . ( We were 3 ppl travelling with a MH and truck and trailer) After my son PURCHASED a gadget reader, that was recommended by the very rude parts guy, and contacting a mechanic by phone, he had to take the usless reader back to the store. He then purchased the 250.00 mechanic recommended one, plugged it in and it told us exactly what was wrong, that the engine was running a bit on the cool side! Meanwhile I was yelled at by the parts guy, when I asked him what I should do ....He yelled, LADY EVERYONE IS FROM OUT OF TOWN, EVERYONE IS BROKEN DOWN ,I AM 3 MEN SHORT, GET A HOTEL AND WE WILL SEE IF WE CAN FIT YOU IN! Might I add that, when I asked, where can find the manager? He really went ballistic! After the service desk made phone calls and a 20 min wait, I finally met the assistant manager. I asked him, the same question, could I pull into 1 of your 4 empty bays and have a guy do a read on my MH to tell me what is wrong as we are out in the back parking lot in 33o heat and I afraid to start my engine. Same answer, we can see to an appt later on, there ppl ahead of you. He showed me out by a the parts dept and I left. The 250.00 reader and a call to a mechanic, solved problem in 10 min...AFTER SPENDING 2 HOURS IN THE PARKING LOT GOING BACK AND FORTH TO THE STORE. If you ever need help while on holidays DON'T GO TO CAN TIRE AT...
Read moreI give it well deserved 4 stars. This "down to earth" convenient shopping mall has a very nice relaxed vibe and has central location at the hub of all the major bus routes. It has one of the best views in Chilliwack because the open space of the plaza is surrounded by the mountains and the sky is just magical at sunset. It has all retail outlets that you would expect in a small to midsize shopping mall. There is Save on Foods and London Drugs, both very nice quality supermarkets. There are number of small places to eat in the mall and there are number of restaurants as well as Starbucks, outside in the plaza.
One thing though Cottonwood Mall does NOT have. In fact, maybe the only mall in BC that does NOT have a Food Court.. Yup.. You, folks, got it right. No food court. CM used to have a Food Court much loved by local seniors. But apparently under the new ownership it was deemed unprofitable and after the section of the mall underwent renovation, there appeared a Liquor Store. Does Chilliwack really need another Liquor Store instead of a community centered Food Court in an ONLY real shopping mall available for 100K + and growing population?? You tell me..
On the positive note: this mall has good security and is very clean. There are security patrols throughout the day. The staff are very helpful. I feel safe being there...
Read moreExtremely disappointed in the company that the mall contract for Santa photos. I had reviewed the Cottonwood Mall website for Santa photos and there was very little information about the photos. Upon arrival Giggle Booth had turned our family away as they were only accepting online appointments. Many other families were turned away as well. I had asked if the staff member could book an appointment and his response was "I don't know how to use the software". This response lacks empathy for individuals who are unable to navigate online booking systems such as seniors, English as a second language and cognitively impaired people which is discriminatory. A senior in the line up had returned for a 2nd day in a row for photos with her grandchildren due to lack of knowldhe of the online system. The Cottonwood Mall needs to advertise that the service is appointments only in order to spare the hurt feelings of...
