I am usually quite happy with white spot, the food is great and the staff are especially nice. None of that really has changed, but today the service was a little lacking.
My wife ordered dinner for the three of us, and I was to pick it up, however it wasnt ready when I got there, because in fact she had forgotten the last step and I had to call her to make it go through. Not white spots fault by any means, so I sat at their bar and waited. And waited some more. And more...
Now I guess they thought I was somebody else or just didnt clue in that I was the one whose meal sat in the pass through from the kitchen, only because I had said the order contained a penne pasta when in fact it was a fettuccini she had ordered so again, not really white spots fault.
I believe I waited there for about 45 minutes, at the bar, on a hot fricken day (in the 30's somewhere) and nobody thought to offer me something cold to drink. No pop, no water, not a drop to drink. I get that everyone was busy, but at least three people were aware of the fact I was sitting there waiting for an order to come up and still none of them seemed to acknowledge that i was a customer, not even the bartender in front of me.
Maybe customer service standards have changed, and take out orders are frowned upon. Maybe they thought I was just gonna blow them off when it came to a tip, or maybe there was a diffusion of responsibility thing going on.
In the end, Sean Harrison was a great help, and got me a coke free of charge as my meal was arriving. Thank you Sean. It was a hot day, and perhaps I came across as a little grumpy, but you were the one redeeming factor that will keep me going to white spot, perhaps even at the Chilliwack location where this all went down.
Thanks for the great meal though and compliments to your cooks who must be melting in the back of a sauna right about...
Read moreWe arrived at 1:55 pm, after lunch rush with 4 adults, 2 toddlers and 1 baby on the hottest day in a while. We were seated within 5 minutes and then waited for 10 minutes to have our drink order taken, but after one of us had already went around the restaurant searching for a server to bring us waters. The hostess ended up bringing us our water and explained that she had told 3 servers we were seated here and none of them were willing to take the table yet. At the end of the meal, we were given a bill with something that we didn't order on it. We then waited about another 10 minutes for the server to come by with the machine so we could pay. We told them we didn't order that and due to the poor service we weren't paying for the cheapest thing on our bill ($6). The server got the manager who came over and after explaining the entire situation and all about the poor service he rudely replied "did you ask for a manager at all during this". I'm not sure how we were supposed to ask for a manager when we couldn't even find a server to bring us waters. He said he would take it off the bill and after another 5 minutes he came back and said they couldn't sort out the receipt and take off what we didn't order so we didn't have to pay. It would've been nice for the manager to just come by and apologize for the awful service instead of being aggressive right off the bat. I will never return to this location and wouldn't recommend anyone...
Read moreI always order the Brie and mushroom veggie burger and add crispy bacon. It’s always delicious. It’s been awhile since I’ve been here and have been trying to healthier so it was a treat to come here. I have been eating white spot since I was a child. I can’t remember the compared to when I was a child but i remember I always enjoyed the bc chicken burger or beef burger back then and the fries were also always good dipped in triple o sauce. Today I opted for the farro power salad bowl with salmon added on. The salad was well dressed - not overdressed. It could have used some more nuts, cheese, and farro.. it was mostly spinach. The salmon was was dry and not seasoned properly. My wife ordered the veggie burger with crispy bacon and I had a few bites of her burger. It was delicious but I noticed they have drastically cut down on the amount of Brie they used to put on the burger. Prices go up but ingredients go down. My wife had fries with her burger and I had a couple, still delicious I would say. The waitress was very friendly. Most restaurants are disappointing these days so I’m glad it wasn’t a big let down going to one of my old favourites. If the owner is reading this: never overcook your salmon, please. Fish is so delicate and it shouldn’t be so dry you can’t swallow it...
