Sternwheeler Craft Distillery — Local services in Creston

If you are of age, and you partake... You should swing by Sternwheeler and treat yourself.

After a long day of driving, I arrived with half an hour before they closed. I wish I had arrived earlier, but I'll take what I can get. The proprietors were behind the bar, and were delightful. They answered my questions about the Distillery, Creston, and were kind enough to point me in the direction of a place to stay for the night, and a place to eat.

I tried the Saskatoon Berry, Apple, and Cherry Brandies, as well as the Cherry Kiersch. All were excellent, but I took a bottle of Cherry Bandy with me.

I'll definitely be back...

I highly recommend that anyone who appreciates fine spirits, to make a point of visiting the Sternwheeler. They take great pride in all of their products and rightly so. The newly opened location has been decorated to offer a relaxed and comfortable ambiance. Jeanette and Pat are delightful people and more than eager to share the history of their craft. On this trip we sampled and left with some high quality sipping gin. There is a very good chance our next visit we will concentrate on the wide variety of brandies. Then perhaps another visit for...

Small little tasting shop hidden behind the trees with a quonset in the back that holds all their barrels. The tasting was delicious and incredibly fun, thr lady there was very friendly and knowledgeable. There was ample of liqueurs, brandy, gin and vodka - all of which are made by fruit products on the farm. There was one gin in particular that is definitely a crowd pleaser - butterfly blue which actually changes color when you pour tonic water in it.
