Bought a pair of Apple Air Pods from this store for a Christmas gift for my daughter in 2021. The sales person pitched me on the idea of the $40 extended warranty that even covered loss of item. Said I could lose them anywhere in Canada, walk into a Source store, give them my phone number and they'd be replaced. Great, sold! So, Air Pods go missing. No problem, I tell my daughter. First tried to use the warranty last fall of 2022 and the sales person at the time told me I had to wait a year for the policy to kick in. Weird, but ok. So, try again after Christmas. What a joke. First, the sales person tried to tell me the policy didn't cover loss. I told him that was why I bought it, since the sales person at the time in 2021 said it did. Also, why didn't the sales person in the fall of 2022 mention that? He just said I had to wait a year for the warranty to kick in. So, the guy phones his boss and comes back and asks me if I have any part of the Air Pods. I told him I just had the left ear piece. "Oh, well you need the Air Pod case, sorry." So, three different stories in two trips to the store to try and make use of the $40 warranty they obviously sold me under false pretenses. Asked for a refund of the $40 since the sales person obviously lied to me when he pitched the warranty to me in 2021. Nope! They can't be sure if that's what he said at the time [basically calling me a liar] and the guy didn't have the authority to refund me. Anyways, I would strongly advise against buying any extended warranty unless you want to...
Read moreI went into The Source in Mic Mac Mall to solve a home office wifi issue this week, walked out with a solution -- and a new cell phone. I knew there were some cell deals yet I arrived quite late on a Friday eve -- like, inexcusably late if you're serious about a replacement. I haven't bought a new phone in years and I was woefully ignorant of the amount of time transferring the info takes. Most sales people would have firmly shooed me into the next day knowing this. Not Shane Bickerton, who manages the store. He assessed what I needed; explained everything thoroughly, attended to my colour preferences and need for a serious protective case, all the while assisting his staff with customer questions, and closing the store ... but not on me. As well, the phone rang one minute before closing and a customer in another part of the mall was welcomed in so colleague Zander could solve her issue. It was really busy when I arrived; staff were kind and courteous not only to me, but also to Shane (which said a lot about his management culture). I finally left 45 minutes after official closing time with my new phone perfectly set up. Not once was there a trace of "attitude", or resentment about closing after hours. They were kind and gracious about it. This is one of the best customer experiences I have had in a long...
Read moreAbsolutely shameful service from their Advantage care…. Refused to fix hdmi port on PS5 citing physical damage when there store representative said there’s absolutely no physical damage, then when I questioned them about the extended warranty being a con, a cash grab, I was told that I was threatening them and the company and got hung up on. So I wrote the source hoping to get some dialogue going, but they chose to ignore me, to no surprise!! Honestly I will never set foot in their stores and this is the reason that a lot of people don’t support Canadian companies, I’ve had no problems with any of the big American companies( they must value their customers). I highly DON’T recommend The Source as a destination to shop for electronics, save yourself the headache and hit up BestBuy, Walmart, Costco, etc. 100 % feel disrespected and not valued as a customer…. Great job The Source!!!!!
Please indicate to me where you see a bent hdmi port… plus you tech told me it was broken pins inside of the machine. Honestly seems like just getting the run around, I wish in this day and times people would take accountability. I honoured my side of the agreement just wish your company would...
