The Chocolate Bear Shoppe — Local services in Delta

The new owner of this shop has terrible customer service skills. I was the first customer in the store and I was choosing chocolates for a box when she interrupted me to help another customer do a quick transaction. Then another customer walked in and she was helping them choose chocolates for a box. A third customer walked in and she preceded to help them as well. Then she wanted to help another customer while I've been waiting for 20 mins already. The customer kindly declined and pointed out that I've been waiting for long enough. I've been coming here since I was a child and will never be returning. Very rude, very inconsiderate, and very judgmental. I'm also assuming she was a racist as every customer who came in was white and I am not and she clearly felt inclined to help them first.

Response to owner/employee: Obviously you would not have a "record" of this incident... who would record such an incident? As far as verifying my identity... you don't take down the names of your customers for every transaction so yes I would assume that you wouldn't have my name on some sort of customer file. I was very patient with the owner helping the customer who wanted to do a quick transaction. It was when another customer came in wanting a personalized box was helped before finishing my transaction that I got annoyed (especially since I wanted 20 pieces of the same chocolate). I assume that no offence was intended but lack of mindfulness has lead to offense being taken.

No matter your excuses and implications that I'm lying, there is no need to help THREE other customers prior to finishing a transaction with the first customer who came into your shop. It also shouldn't be up to another customer to point out that you're doing something wrong.

Anyway, I hope you learned from your mistakes and have decided that every customer is equally important,...

I've known The Chocolate Bear Shoppe for its whole history, but my most recent experience with it has been wonderful! During the COVID-19 period, I was glad to discover the shop has online ordering and a reasonable delivery charge, or storefront pickup (free). (Marie also takes phone orders.) For every special occasion in my household I've received delicious chocolates, jelly beans, and wonderful, maple hot chocolate! All beautifully wrapped!! Don't be fooled by the blank appearance of this shop when it's not open. There are treats and delights galore awaiting your visit...

So very helpful at the Chocolate Bear Shop! Lots of helpful staff working! They wrapped all my items that I bought and helped me picked different kinds of chocolate. They were even very understanding when my 1.5 year old son was getting fussy, and offered a little treat for him. Such a perfect place to get a gift for somebody that has everything and it can be very personalized....like a mini chocolate tool kit, or horse, or guitar or...
