BEWARE - Worse customer service experience I've had. Everyone was very friendly until........... I've purchased a steel rim and winter tire combo from Canadian tire with the plans of having new summer tires installed on my summer rims. This is the first time I've needed tires since buying my new vehicle I was looking forward to the improved ride over the worn out set once the winter combo was ready to come off. I'm very particular with my vehicles and hand wash and detail myself. Knowing the struggles of working on a dirty vehicle I let the Service Manager know that I wanted to wash the rims before dropping off to help his team and ensure changing tires and balancing was a smooth process. Picking up my rims everything was in order and all the tires had been wrapped in plastic bags (Albeit 2 hours later than when they said the work would be done- not a big deal). receiving the tires late meant they would now have to wait to be installed the next day (Sunday). However once opening up the plastic wrap from each tire I noticed a consistent black scratch on 3 of my 4 rims! After waiting several days for the manager to address my concerns and he reviewing the surveillance video it was determined that they would cover the costs to fix two of the 3 rims. I wasn't pleased and left the situation to sleep on it overnight. I realized before accepting my fate to ask to review the Surveillance video myself. Big surprise the video had been deleted and was not available for my review. Ok 2nd option, I decided that being a detailer and having access to polishing compounds I could save both of us money and try and polish out the scratches myself. Unfortunately upon cleaning the rims for polishing I found more significant damage! This time I found the inside of the rims had been gouged from removing the original factory wheel weights that had been adhesive taped in place. One of which has had a sander used with a large area of finished ground down to the bare aluminum! UPON RETURN TO THE SERVICE MANAGER WITH THIS NEW DAMAGE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT CANADIAN TIRE CAUSEING SCRATCHES AND SANDING ALLOY RIMS WAS STANDARD PRACTICE AND TO BE EXSPECTED! Needless to say I was floored at this response and lack of concern for their technicians malpractice, This was acceptable my the management team! The offer still stands that they will fix two however the other two will be at my cost to repair! I not only paid to purchase new tires and rims and the costs to have them changed now I'm expected to fix a problem I thought I was hiring professionals for. Very disappointed this location doesn't stand...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have no problems with the store, I actually enjoy going to it. But I DO NOT recommend you take your vehicle to them for repairs. If you do youāll likely have to get the same repairs done again shortly after the warranty expires because they use INFERIOR parts to do the repairs. Their shop rates are much higher than independent shops. I donāt have problems with their technicians, Iām sure they are competent and trained mechanics and they have usually returned my vehicle repaired properly. But they shouldnāt put inferior parts in because they will have to do it again (if you bring the vehicle back). Hereās my experience: In August 2021 I got a new fuel pump and filter installed in my truck. In November 2022 I began having issues with it being hard to start and stalling. I suspected a fuel issue. The warranty was 1 year, and since it was just beyond the warranty I decided to take it somewhere else. They replaced the fuel pump and filter again and itās fixed. Total bill at Canadian Tire was $705, parts were $180. At the other place they put the best fuel pump they could get in, it was $350 in parts, but total bill was $680. Next was my van. In February 2021 they replaced most parts of the power steering system except pump and rack, basically all hoses. It also had 1 year warranty. In December 2022 power steering started leaking again. It needed a new high pressure hose which CT had replaced and charged $50 for. Total bill with all parts and labour was $800, and they had my vehicle for a week while they waited for parts (they sell parts!!). I took it to another shop to get fixed January 2023. They recommended an extreme weather hose, which was $130 for parts, with total bill of $450. I had my vehicle back the next day! Canadian Tire also put new struts on my van a few years ago. I had to take it back the same week because one was making funny noises. They replaced under warranty including labour. The struts came with lifetime warranty. About 4 years later they were worn out so I took it in for warranty. They replaced the struts under warranty but it didnāt include labour. Just the parts have lifetime warranty. They made money doing the warranty work because the manufacturer paid for the new parts, and I had to pay labour. When my van needed new back brakes, they told me I needed all 4 brakes, but I knew the front ones were almost new, I had them done at the dealership not long before. I would not recommend Canadian Tire to repair your vehicle, find a good independent garage to take it to, or fix...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell here's my first impression. They are still under construction for months now, and the entrance/exits are not fully operational. The store has intense security, which is not very welcoming at all for the customer. Maybe if they spent more money hiring staff to help customers, and not hired security and locked up tools that require 10 minutes waiting for an employee to open, they would have a better review score and increased customer satisfaction. Here was my experience today though. I Tried to make a return for an open box, in which the policy is up to the discretion of the store, as per Canadian Tire policy. The employees working there were about to process a full refund or store credit, until the General Manager 'SUE', cancelled the return on me out of spite. The reason she said was because she couldn't verify that my product had missing pieces, due to not having stock of product (obvious lie, she's just a wicked woman), and basically was calling me a liar, and making this bizarre scenario that I didn't bring all the pieces back for my return. Then she told me to go to Sherwood Park store, 'down the road', when it's in a different city and at least 10 minute drive away. As per Canadian Tire policy, refunds can be accepted at any Canadian Tire. Also, after I had to inform Sue, whom is the general manager about Canadian Tire's return polices, she then said she won't accept the return because of a new condition, that being it's open box now, just cause out of spite. This proves that the only purpose she goes to work in the morning for, is to ruin people's day, she lives for this, and loves it. She's a sick, vile and wicked woman, whom shouldn't be at this level of authority, especially when she lacks basic de-escalation with customers and is absent in any form of professionalism. Immediately when I saw Sue, I saw a woman whose been in power too long and her soul is corrupted, she's the kind of woman that spreads misery, hate and suffering to all the employees working around her, like Chernobyl or a parasitic vampire or leech. You know that feeling you get, when you can look at someone and already know that their intentions are bad, I already knew by looking at her what she was going to do. My interaction with the General Manager 'Sue' today, was one of the most unpleasant and unprofessional encounters I have had at any Canadian Tire store. Do not go here for returns, you wont get one, because the General Manager 'Sue', her life mission is the ruin the good part...
