Top Donair & Pizza Capilano — Restaurant in Edmonton

I've been in Edmonton for about 6 months. This is the 20th Donair place I've had food from and will be the only one after today. Walked in and was pleasantly greeted and had the different deals clearly and politely explained to me. A+ for customer service. Did not stay to eat but it was way nicer then most I've been too, truly a place I'd take my grandkids too. Ordered 2 jumbo donairs WOW. First time they said jumbo and it was actually jumbo. It's a 2 day meal easily. The owner felt genuine and by the time (made perfect and quick) I was ready to leave I felt I made a new friend. That my friend is customer service at its best. Quick note, don't forget to get some Feta in! So drove home took 20 mins, was a little worried how it would taste, WOW 👌 👏 😍 👍 SO FRICKING GOOD. If it was that good 20 mins later I can't wait to eat in. Anyways, if your young this place will introduce you to what spending your money on food should be like and if your older it will remind of the good Ole 👍 days. When your hard earned money 💰 bought you a meal you enjoyed along with some old school customer service. Quality has really started to slide in the last couple of months, which is strange because the price has also gone up quite a bit. New system is nice and I don’t mind the prompt for a tip (even if it’s getting stretch with take out), but they’re pushing for 30% now in addition the the higher prices.

So lower quality, higher price, and expect an ultra high tip? Pick one!!!

Reply to response: I’ve ordered the same thing for the last few years. It was hitting the $17 range, and recently the same order is hitting $20. Maybe it’s being run in wrong. Quality is another thing. It might be the same ingredients, but new staff preparing? It doesn’t taste the same. Could be it’s just undercooked and under seasoned the last few times. It did come out quicker. Either way, not the same quality it was.

Tipping, just scale it back. 30% is just rude on any standard.

Horrible! Worst chicken donair in Edmonton without question! I was there literally 5 mins ago and a regular chicken donair with extra sweet sauce. I paid the $12.59 and waited. They called me up to get my order and when the guy handed me the bag, I thought it felt a bit small and light. But I was in a rush as I had to get back to work. Got in the car and drove back to work, opened the bag and I simply couldn't believe it! The "regular" chicken donair is SO tiny that even my coworkers were taken aback! One of them said that maybe it'll taste really good and make up for the small size. So, I gave it a try. BLAND! Literally no seasoning. I had to have my coworkers try as well and they said the same thing. Barely any chicken.
