Viva Pets — Local services in Edmonton

A couple years ago I wanted to switch my Boxer Dog to Raw from dry food. She was having problems due to allergies. Her feet were bleeding and bumps all over her body. I sat down and talked to the staff about this. We made a game plan and it worked. Her feet stopped bleeding and her skin cleared up.

4 year later, she was diagnosed with pancreatitis. I called and talked to the staff right away. I told them what was going on and they suggested to me that I should switch her to a more pancreatitis friendly raw food. They credited me the coat lid all the old food that I just purchased with no questions asked. The new food my dog LOVES and is very happy. The staff would like me to check in with them for the next couple of weeks. This way we can change if needed.

I do not have a bad thing to say about the staff. I called and everything was done and no fighting at all. I was stressed to figure out what to feed my dog to make her better, and it ended up to be no problems. They made everything so stress free. I was not impressed with my experience here at all. The fact that they are 20% more expensive than other stores of the same caliber was something i was willing to overlook for the hard to find harness I purchased. I ended up buying the wrong size as the staff just watched me fumble with it while trying to control my leashed dog from saying hello to the staffs unleashed pets. In the end of it I just bought it figuring I will return it if the harness does not work for us. Well...they will not honour returns. Even though the other location will do returns, this one will not. Store credit only. I ended up using the store credit for food we buy and paid an extra 20 dollars than what it costs at my regular store. Being friendly does not mean it is good business. Reasonable customers deserve to be satisfied when paying 70 dollars for a harness or have the option to return the in new condition item. Mel and her staff are amazing! They are always there to offer any help that they can for our fur-kids, and for our fur-kids, their help has been absolutely invaluable. Over the past year, they have always been there to help us when we needed their expertise (which proved to be quite often), whether it being to recommend their own products, to recommend other herbal/homeopathic options somewhere else to try, or to just listen to us talk. We always feel like we are among friends when we walk through the door, and we know that we can trust them and their advice wholeheartedly.
