We opted to stop here before continuing our journey to Edmonton and it was well worth the visit! We were greeted by Mariam who was very kind and shared the story of how the museum came to be in the possession of a Grand Trunk Railway safe. We got to see the old railway station and learn about the growth of railway, timber and coal towns in the area. The exhibits are smaller in nature but give a lot of great information and there was quite a few interactive elements - we particularly enjoyed the telegraph station! They also have an extensive taxidermy collection of local wildlife. There is a lovely seating area where you can enjoy a packed lunch or take a short walk in the neighbouring Centennial park where you can see Eddie the squirrel, RCAF airplane and a railway car. Excellent value ($5 per adult) and great...

The lady working the till didn't seem to know what she was doing but she was friendly. She immediately got help from another staff who was very friendly and extremly helpful. I would have given 5 stars if the first staff had payed attention to what I told her. The other staff was clearly listening and corrected the staff on till because I had explained twice how our group was paying and once again after the other staff...

Great museum in Edson. Unfortunately we did not have time to actually go into the museum, we will have to do that another time but it looks very interesting. Everything else was very good. The staff is friendly and courteous. There are public washrooms available that are clean and accessible. There is a gift shop that is very nice. The building is in a park setting so you can go for a walk...

Hidden Gem. Inexpensive and well worth the stop. Stayed longer than planned and had to drag the kids to the mountains. Promised to come back on the return. And did. Learn morse code, share messages with the next visitors and decode the messages they left. More to touch and do than most museums. Clean washrooms, coffee and water, gift shop, cool exhibits and search games for kids. AND A GIANT SQUIRRELL!
