PLEASE READ BEFORE VISITING: Interesting experience here! My friends and I left Bonkers after browsing for about 10 minutes. We went to other parts of the mall and shopped. On our way to the food court, we were stopped by a male security guard, and my friend was asked to return to the store as the manager insisted something was stolen. We entered the store and the manager was wearing the most devious, smug grin I have ever seen in my 35 years of life. Head tilted, eyes wide with excitement, finger pointed directly at my friend. I was already angry at the attitude coming from this woman since I confidently knew my friend wouldn’t steal, so I left the store and stood at the window to watch from afar. The manager and Paul Blart had my friend empty her bags (FULL OF PURCHASES FROM OTHER STORES!!) and remove her coat. The rent a cop even asked if he could search her hoodie pockets which are too small to fit an iPhone, much less a stuffed animal. I went back into the store to check up on my friend and found her behind the counter, reviewing the security footage with the manager. As I walked up to the front counter, the manager said “HI!” very condescendingly, as if she was facing the suspect of a 45 year old cold case that she personally solved. Or as if she was busting a 15 year old teenage kid for petty theft. After accusations from the manager, My friend was the one who suggested that they actually review the cameras together so everyone could come to an accurate conclusion. After reviewing, the store manager finally took the time to walk over to the shelf to check for the stuffed animal, and found it sitting right where my friend had left it! Sorry Nancy Drew, but the Bonkers staff have officially left you jobless! Why check for the “stolen” merchandise when you can just point a finger instead? Probably the highlight of their month as the manager (I think her name is Amanda) seemed genuinely excited to have caught my friend in the act. The cherry on top was the grossly inauthentic apology my friends and I got as we left the store. “Sorryyyyyy guys.” Hopefully this was a teachable moment for Amanda, but I can empathize with her. Once you age past 35 it’s hard to change the way your brain is wired. Will not ever be returning to this location, and if any of my friends or I had actually purchased something, we would have immediately returned it. Bonkers customer service! ROCK ON BONKERS STONE ROAD! MAY YOU ALWAYS REMAIN HYPER VIGILANT!

Always admire how clean malls are and this one is no exception. Been at least 15 years since I'd been in this mall. A few stores have changed. Upper floor cinema has been replaced by a clothing store (most people seem to watch movies from the comfort of their own homes nowadays). Many base stores are still on place. I had a chuckle when I saw the malls one failing exterior support column rigged up with "support" bars. I'd get that looked at immediately if I were involved with this mall in anyway. I'm not an engineer but I'm certain that rigging (see attached photographs) would not pass inspection by anyone qualified. I did get a meal in their food court. I sat close to the window area, since I like natural lighting and enjoy looking outside (used to be a Consumers Distributing store back in my youth). I noticed a lot of young teenagers in the area and, in mass, I noticed most everyone of them flock to the exit. Brought me back to my high-school years and the realization our youth had done the same thing. Hang out at the local mall during lunch period. Funny how some things don't change.

The only mall in Guelph. The Stone Road Mall has the majority of stores you'd expect from a mall as well as the seasonal shops like "Spirit Halloween" & Santa's "village" during seasonal times. This year they did a great Halloween event for the kids and had mini pumpkins, prizes and Spiderman! The mall has a newly renovated food court with ample seating. It also has a new large Marks Work Warehouse, Home Sense and Toys R Us. The mall has definitely improved over the years since Sears departure (nothing against Sears, just stating the timeline) There is a parking garage behind the mall and the buses do stop at the mall's rear. The mall also offers wireless Internet which can be hit and miss. A great place to pop in and check out. The only nuisance is the Starbucks in the East parking lot.. the drive through traffic really gums things up.

My childhood Mall.

There's a weird feeling in me that it's going to be a dead mall in the next decade or so. Thank god they're turning in the right direction.

The Sears got a little too depressing for me before they had renovations done. Now it's actually half decent. Due to it being a one level Sears, it's very limited.

The mall itself has a nice 90s, vintage feel to it, some stores were in and out for a couple of years, like Home Outfitters and and HMV (never forget.) but Marshalls opened up in the former Home Oufitters locations, as well as Sportchek and Atmosphere moving beside it. Sad to see Milestones go though :(

As of now, Chapters is being renovated into what I can only assume an Indigo, some stores like Payless moved locations, so there's some empty store fronts.

My only concern for the mall is the food court and the upstairs area. The upstairs area is the most depressing and dead area I've seen, with the Sportchek moved out, it's now one big vacant storefront. If I could recommend a bigger food court or a movie theatre, that would be awesome :), there is a hair cut salon, a day care centre, and some tax businesses up there, but it's pretty dead up there. Hopefully Stone Road gets that fixed up.

The basement area is a bit sketchy too. There's I think only a Dollarama there, so you can just get what you need and go back up. The fountain is a little dated too.

Not a lot of variety as of the food court. Edo just closed up, but I go there to eat Taco Bell, or Subway. Usually I would eat Thai Express, which is just beside Chapters/Indigo.

It's the only mall that Guelph has to offer, I would totally recommend the mall, with stores like H&M, Marshall's, Guess, Sunrise Records, Pandora, and others. The location is quite convenient as well, if you're not feeling the A&W vibe, you can have a quick bite at McDonald's or take your kid to Mastermind Toys. There's also a Tim Hortons, Pizza Hut and Wendy's down the road near Metro. Staples is also in the area which has been in that location forever.

Forever 21 Red is going to be opening in the mall, so if you can wait a bit longer, it'll open :), it's located in the former Black's Photography.

The kiosks are pretty nifty as well!! So stop by if you want, I've never stopped to look at some, besides the Calendar Club one, but they have really good stuff (but they're likely to be overpriced :( )

I would totally recommend this Mall!! To just shop, hang out, or to take a walk in, it's not that crowded, even on...

Mall security has banned majority of high school students from even using the metro gas station to fill their cars . If mall security sees high school students anywhere near the mall(four block radius) you will be detained and the police will be called for “trespassing “ this has happened on multiple occasions. Apparently they patrol the mall and the metro . I live beside the mall. And I am banned from the property my house is on apparently . When I told them you cannot ban me from that area and the metro they said to bring it up with HR. Which makes no sense . They aren’t even connected to Human Resources. My mother is a lawyer and she’s not happy about this at all! Specifically this short “blonde “ girl with really bad roots and young man with short black hair that usually works nightshirts on the can-am (the cart they use .)always tries to physically remove students from the property with no proof of harassment ,theft or vandalism. Not even loitering. I am very unhappy with this mall and the security. I have seen security harass elder people aswell. Not cool. (Back story, I was banned from the mall 4 YEARS ago. For two months , for vandalism (I broke a garbage can and a door ) they still remove me from the property. It’s been four years. My ban is up. My friends have also been banned multiple time for “theft” and when asked for proof , they could not give it . There are cameras all over the mall. If they had proof of them stealing they are obligated to show you. But they didn’t , they refused to show us , they wrongfully banned a lot of students .(they didn’t steal anything . They purchased the things they bought. But because they were walking down the mall strip , putting their newly purchased items into their bag. Security assumed they were stealing ....
