Honestly would’ve rated it less if I could. My girlfriend and I come out to try different restaurants all the time. We’ve been to pür and simple twice and the second time was somehow worse. The first time we were greeted by a male server and came at 10:35 in the morning. Not only did it take 15 minutes to even get waters, but our food order came out at 11:20. I’m just confused to how this happens. For context, the restaurant had 6 active tables at the time, two servers, and somehow our food came out cold.
my girlfriend and I are servers too and we are pretty lenient when it comes to service (knowing how the restaurant industry is) but even this was overly excessive, no bill adjustment, no check ins to see how we were doing, empty waters etc.
The second time we came in was today and were greeted by abbey. Once. That’s all. She took 15 minutes to get our waters out (that we asked 3 times for), and we ordered other drinks as well. She was sitting in the back talking to a brunette host instead of getting a table situated. (I also know waters can’t take that long to get because when she dropped of the smoothie and the coffee we asked for, we reminded her of the waters, she made a face, uttered under her breathe, stormed off, and got them back to us in sub 30 seconds). She then took our food order, didn’t repeat it back to us, and somehow forgot to include toast and home fries in the order. 3 r’s, write (down the order which she didn’t), repeat back to the guest (which she didn’t), and review it (before sending it through the posi. The food came out staggered, my food was cold, and the poached eggs we asked for were poached rock solid, didn’t know that was an option. She didn’t check on us until it was time to drop the bill, waters were empty, other drinks empty, but as soon as she wanted us gone the bill was given to us within a minute of request? Again no bill differential, no apologies, no anything except just plain awful service. We will be taking our business elsewhere (which is saying a lot because we’re...
Read moreThe first time we were in it was fabulous. Busy, service and food were amazing. So I decided to take a friend there about a month or so later. Well, what a change. There was one other table in the place (no big deal, just thought it was strange). We had coffee which had coffee grounds all the bottom. The server got me another one but didn’t get my friend one when she asked for another coffee too! And lo and behold, the second cup of coffee was full of coffee grounds as well. I was told “all I can do is pass it on”. Okay… the machine probably needs to be calibrated. The hash browns (their potatoes that come with the breakfasts) were cold. So she took mine (but again didn’t take my friends which were cold as well). My eggs were not cooked fully either, again replace in the kitchen. Asked for no butter on the toast for my friend and there was butter (easy mistake I know). Any time there was an issue I was told “all I can do is pass it along”. There was no manager there. I did contact head office and had someone call me (just left a name and I believe it was our server as they were from the restaurant). When I called back I did not receive a response. I did get a call from their cook as well, at almost 10pm at night (which I didn’t not find appropriate). I don’t know for the cost and the service and food quality if we will ever go back again. It was a really disappointing experience. There are many other breakfast places in Guelph that are much better than this one and give you more value (and service)...
Read moreTerrible experience, service was really bad, and we would not come here again.
We waited at least 15 minutes before a waitress approaching us. When we requested to change to a large table because the table that we had was really cramped and we literally needed to squeeze ourselves in, we saw other 2-person parties got seated at 4-person tables, and there were empty tables around. The waitress rejected us saying that it's their strict policy for 2-person parties to sit at small table only. We complied and change to the last remaining small table at the very back of the restaurant. After we were reseated, the waitress decided to walk away and attended other businesses instead of taking our order, we didn't even get a chance to ask for some water. We waited for more time and realized that she was unlikely to return to us anytime sooner, that's where we decided to quit the waiting game and left. We are just glad to pick another restaurant, where we were well served and well fed.
I do hope the management team could read this and review your existing process with your team. If the team is understaffed then the management should consider hiring more people; if the team is inexperienced or undertrained, then a proper training is required. The restaurant was not even entirely full at the time, about one-third of the tables were still empty, and it was frustrating to see a waitress kept setting up empty tables instead of serving their customers when there was no one waiting...
