Escape The House — Local services in Mississauga

We had a group of 4 play the Trapped room. Just to provide some background on my level of experience, our same group was able to successfully complete 3 other rooms, and I personally played a room with a different group (where we did not escape). Compared to those 4 experiences I had, this one specifically sticks out as the only negative experience.

The room itself had very little to do with the premise of the story, which was a big letdown, because the background seemed very interesting. The room setup and puzzle creativity wasn't the greatest. The most interesting part was just the element of being split up from your teammates. We had one sticky lock that would not open despite having the correct code for a large portion of the time, yet our gamemaster never clued in to tell us that we needed to just yank the lock a little harder. This detail ended up being the game changer in terms of escaping, as we ran out of time halfway through our final puzzle. The method/delivery of hints could use work as well.

After the room, no one from the staff came up to us to have a conversation about our experience, which was out of the ordinary. We left without wanting a picture, and without interaction with a worker. The establishment gave off the impression that the workers were there to complete a shift and that was all; there wasn't any conveyed passion or interest in the actual escape room. There was also an incident where the staff was actually pretty rude.

If you are going for your first escape room, you may find Trapped fun. However in comparison to the other rooms we've experienced in the Hamilton/Stoney Creek/Niagara area, this one just wasn't the greatest, and we will not...

Called 3 times to make a reservation for 6 ppl after purchasing a groupon. Left messages with no call back. Finally, on the 4th attempt, April 11th, 2018 I was able to book for July 6th, 2018...almost 3 months in advance.

On July 6th, group was delayed in traffic in Niagara Falls. We called 1 hr before expected arrival to see if a later time was available on the same day. We were provided with 2 other available times. We told employee we would speak with our group and call back. 1 hour later we called to secure ine of the available times given to us and were told that because we did not make the change an hour earlier they could not reschedule or honour our booking and they "assumed" we were going to arrive at our scheduled time.

Hope the cost of our one groupon was worth the reoccurring visits from the 6 members in our group. This is the only money they will ever receive from us and others that we know. Escape rooms are "a dime a dozen". Their loss.

The fact that the owner felt the need to post this lengthy cover-up reply full of lies and inaccuracies given to him by his staff to cover their errors, speaks highly to the nature of customer service at this establishment.

Why didn't he share/include the fact that he asked me to take down/remove my negative review and I said no? A lot of false details, but somehow that was missed....

Buyer Beware... take your business elsewhere. Not the first Escape Room I have been to, but definitely one can see from the nature / tone of his reply, the worst customer service. Not worth...

My brother and sister in law gifted us this experience with them for Christmas and we had a great time. I’m easily scared so I was a bit nervous in the beginning but enjoyed the problem solving and team work. It seems like the whole experience has been very well thought out! It was nice to have lockers for our possessions, a proper explanation of how unfamiliar locks work, and clear details about what to do and what not to do. I like that everything in the room was purposeful and not just meant to confuse us. Aside from the introduction it didn’t seem like the story line continued other then some ominous soundtrack (which I wasn’t mad about because it scared me). It was nice to be able to ask for hints when we were stuck but the hints were more like answers than hints. We were able to escape the room before our time expired and it was really nice to be able to chat with the owner afterwards. You can tell he really enjoys what he does which is so nice to see.
