This place is a dump and doesn't even deserve 1 star. This is completely the fault of property management. They have no desire to improve this mall, and all they really care about is gouging excessive maintenance fees from the existing clients. As a result, no one stays in the mall for long. Mall management, if you're listening, here's how you can improve the mall:
input gas, water and electric into all the food court units. Once this is done, you'll notice how many requests you'll get for tenants asking for the food court spaces. Right now it costs close to 200k for each tenant to have all this done, and no one is going to spend that much money to do this work for you.
scrap your "maintenance fee". Everyone knows it's a scam, and you're just trying to gouge the tenants for what little money they are making from your mall. If tenants are paying you close to $700/month in "maintenace" which is literally providing nothing to them, they're screwed before they even start.
diligently monitor the homeless population. If people are entering or loitering around, get them out or have them arrested for trespassing ASAP, that simple. One time I walked into the bathroom, and a homeless man was taking a bath in the sink there.
Unfortunately, until these are implemented...this...
Read moreI grew up in malton, spent over ten years there. Westwood mall now Westwood square is a bit of a disappointment to be honest. I mean the Reno's are amazing, it's cleaner, feels like it got the much needed upgrade, however it feels cold at the same time. When it was Westwood mall it was lively, every store was full of everyday use and accessories. Now??? It's basically an oversized flea market. There is a good portion of the newly renovated stores, sadly they have all decreased in size. I do however like the upgrades to the frescho, shoppers drug mart, LCBO, they've buildt a fit for less gym, moved the four corners medical center into the mall. But over all it's a mall lacking luster. Mind you I don't live in this area anymore and it's really sad to see all the shops and food places that we're once there gone. There isn't much familiarity to Westwood square. Every now and then a new store pops up and within a few weeks to a month it's gone. Nothing in this mall appears permanent. Nothing gives off the appeal to shop, and eat. The food court is massive for no good reason, when there isn't much options to choose from. It was simply upgraded for attraction to appear bigger, shiny and new. And the impression your left with is,...
Read moreThis mall has become more like a flea market and strip mall combined. The inside of the mall has small shops that are independently owned (not big chain stores) that are similar to those that you would find in a flea market. It is more like an upscale flea market.
Some of the bigger chain stores have moved to outside the mall and no longer are connected or have entrances into the mall such as LCBO and Shoppers Drug Mart. Banks have also done the same with TD and CIBC coming outside into their own buildings. This is where they have begun to also look like a strip mall.
The mall is often very crowded and people seem to loiter around the mall a lot. There never seems to be a time at the mall where there is not a lot of people. This is a challenge for those who drive because it can be difficult to find parking. I have gone at all hours during the week and on the weekend and found it some what of a challenge to find parking majority of the time. Sometimes it is a little less busy on a Sunday morning and you can find parking easily.
Overall, this is a very crowded mall and personally I do not feel like going through the hassle of trying to find a parking spot to go here if I can just go elsewhere to get the same things and avoid the...
