I haven't been there in person, only ordered online. I won't assume it's the same if you go there to eat there in person. I ordered lamb curry and what I got was basically 90% oil, very little amount of lamb. While the taste was ok, that's the only positive. Imagine less than a palm size of a girl's hand, and that piece being cut up to make it seem like it's worth the price. The saag paneer was way too salty and it seemed like it was overcompensated by spice, barely had the cheese, I had 3 pieces... The naan seemed wrapped too long ago, it was wet. I understand wanting to get things ready ahead of time but some things should be more thought out. The seeds and spice shells were not ground well, you can choke on them...Please be mindful. I don't know what you added that was not spinach but there was too much of it, it was rough to chew, not how paneer should be. We ended up spitting more seeds and shells along of the vegetable hard strands. We could not finish it. Portion of the lamb and paneer can fit in a 15-19 oz container, not fill it up from what we did with the food.
The taste isn't bad but again, too salty, oil to the solid food ratio is off, and portion is insulting. Not ordering again even though the food did not taste terrible, it was disappointing. Saag Paneer $12.95, naan $3.95, its one piece they cut in half, Curry lamb $15.95, naan $3.95.
$36.80 before taxes. I think after taxes it was $42 something.
Be aware if you get a free item menu offer from the food sites like Skip the Dishes or other, you are forced to add another item to your choice of meal, which of course costs more. We only wanted the paneer and lamb curry, but picked the naan because we wanted food. You are forced to add another item to accept this "Free" food item, which you will be charged for. You might as well not accept that "free" food. If you decide to eat this as take out, just make your own rice. We could have eaten elsewhere but took a chance on this.
Not the worst, not...
Read moreThe restaurant is really hard to find if you're doing a pickup order. I was in a rush and it took me a long time to find the restaurant. There is a tiny sign showing where the restaurant is. But not visible. The service is bad. They're rude. Took time to find my order. Told me I didn't put an order and I had to insist. When I asked for a bag, one of the waitress was very rude and reproached me to not have parked my car at the front (I had four dishes to carry). She had no bags and put it on me. Fortunately, one of the other employees, kindly helped me carry my dishes to my car. Cherry on top. The take out wasn't correctly sealed so it spilled all over my car. Bad experience overall.
Late update-- The manager just called me to fix the situation. "Perceive rudeness" was right though. I work a lot because of my job so I don't have time to go get my "free meal" (in exchange of me changing my review). He was very pushy on the phone for me to come the next day in person to go to the location. I work on that day and not on the same location. He didn't want to send me a delivery or a coupon, but wanted me to come on that day in his terms. Beyond rude! Now it's a 0. There are so many other Indian restaurants in Montreal with good food, good location, and proper customer service! This pushiness/rudeness doesn't...
