Avoid doing business with Gamekeeper, they are notorious for refunding orders to bump prices and charge random service fees.
My friends warned me about that place and I decided to give them a chance anyway, unfortunately. I go up to the counter and show the clerk a picture of a card on their own website at 1$, ask for 3 copies. He seems hesitant and tells me to hold on. He goes onto his computer and makes me wait a couple of minutes. The whole interaction was awkward and he would ignore me half of the time that I spoke to him. After a while, he tells me that there is a 10$ minimum for him to process my order. I went to a dozen card stores in Montreal and this is the first time I am being asked fees for handing me out merchandise, so naturally I don't buy.
Later the same day, I go on their website to order the cards and more and to my surprise they had already bumped the price of all prints of the card from 1$ to 4$.
If you refuse to serve me for small orders, I will go see elsewhere when making big ones. :)
Edit for the reply : I don't know why I have to repeat myself, but your employee was barely even communicating with me and he did not show me how to "place my order on the computer" or price checked the cards in front of me before deciding to let me know there is a 10$ policy. Either this is a poor attempt to save your reputation or your employee is just lying to you, in which case I don't blame you but at least look at your cameras to see that he barely talked or showed me anything.
Yes I decided to not buy the cards because I'm not going to get pressured into buying junk I don't need just because "policy says so!". Somehow you are the only store in Montreal that thinks it's a good idea to refuse service for a small purchase after the customer bothered to come and see you, hence why you deserve a beautiful 1 star.
The fact that you bothered to lie and try to undermine my criticism and many others reviews just shows how much good faith you are putting towards your customer service, instead of resolving issues and attempt to better your service, you're being petty and try to justify your bad business practice.
Thanks for worrying, I did find the cards I was looking for cheaper than your bumped price and spent some more money...
Read moreI purchased 3 copies of a Yu-Gi-Oh card at Gamekeeper Lajeunesse when I saw it had been affected by the latest banlist (banned-limited). 2/3 copies were refunded and I received an email explaining that their policy allows them to cancel any orders involving more than a playset. In their eyes, if a card is limited, then a playset cannot exceed 1 copy. I replied to the email, voicing my disappointment towards their interpretation of the store policy.
An hour later, I received an email from the owner of Gamekeeper (Mauro) accusing me of trying to profit off their back! He also claimed my purchase history showed a pattern that made me an undesirable customer and that I shouldn't bother ordering from them anymore (essentially a ban). I'm really scratching my head over this claim, as I looked over my purchases in the past two years and the only times I've bought cards from GK were after seeing a deck profile that included cards I didn't own.
Anyone who has been around the MTG or YGO scene for a few years or read some of the replies to these Google reviews will know about Mauro's off-putting customer service. This is not the first time he has been involved in disputes with clients involving card prices (and order cancellations). I made the mistake of assuming I would be the exception to this pattern. Spend your...
Read moreBuying one playset of card, it spiked up in price. The owner felt super salty about it and told me to go buy somewhere else. (Btw I assume that's the case becos the owner did a very bad job of explaining why)
How about you do better job as the shop owner? You seem to don't have similar problem when the card go down in price, and No I've checked the site. there's zero policy against this buying. It's just an owner ego, plain and simple.
No wonder why this shop won't be anything beyond the worst version of Face2Face which is quiet a accomplishment.
And If you look closely those positive review got so low in likes compare to the negative one, and a lot of those negative review contain so many proof about this shop. Those already gave you a good example of "good" of this shop is.
This is the legacy that you'll...
